Games aren't bad at all(especially ones that you actually learn something good from). However gettign addicted to games is what is bad & sometimes even dangerous.Parents are right to want to look after their kids by stopping them from getting addicted/playing too much, cos it's not good

Rotting your brain cells is sort of...the opposite of a euphemysm...it is true that excessive gaming is bad for your health, mainly it lowers your eyesight and affects your brain performance (lack of sleep, lack of attention..yadda yadda). But if you control yourself and the time you play games, there wont be any problem, in fact, games are great ways of learning stuff.GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - tedsb16

well in order to properly answer this question, one must first define the use of word, "game". If one were to define it as a "video game" then it of course would have to take into account the genre of the game and what the greatest function of the game is, such as the economic system of assassin's creed 2 and in brotherhood, or the stealth mentality of metal gear solid series...for the most basic and obvious example, the mental exercises in brain age. The same could be said about physical games, such as soccer or hockey. Too much contact hockey would definitely be bad for you, as continuous concussions are bound to result in some form of brain damage. If one were to consider the gladiator games of ancient rome, then one could definitely argue that games are bad because the dangerous nature of the games.

Gaming is actually good for children. It teaches them problems solving skills and improves their hand-eye coordination and as a long as that's not their sole form of entertainment, it can greatly increase their technological curiosity and causing them to explore new things. We talked about this in one of my human development classes.

I don't think video games can hurt your brain in anyway, but they might keep you from doing schoolwork or going to work like they do to me.

Anything in overabundance is bad for us. depending on how often you can actually put down a controller is evident in how it can effect us good or bad. games themselves seem well enough as is just parents need to monitor the fact the let their children on like black ops stinkin up my games  j/k

I don't believe that games are bad for you. Before video games it was tv. It's just the scape goat for this generation. As soon as the next generation of entertainment comes around, that will be blamed as well. I think most people are concerned about video games due to their interactive nature, and then this depends on the genre you play.
