I'm happy with my DSi XL. I think it's way to early for Nintendo to bring out the 3DS. They just brought out the DSi XL. Why put a new handheld on the market this soon?

From what I know, the DSi really didn't add much to the mix. It had a camera and it could go online and download titles, but I've heard (I don't actually own one) that the online component was badly implemented. Download speeds are horrible and navigating available games is a pain. And the DSi XL only added size, which some people don't even really want due to the reduced portability.The 3DS will bring welcome upgrades to existing features and a number of new features that catapult the system to the "Must Have" category in my opinion. And now that they've got the tech to support glasses-less 3D, they might as well focus their efforts on it. Wouldn't want to be the company that had the tech and then sat on it to leave the current system in the limelight, then have another company come out with a new system using tech very similar to what you were sitting on. Not only would the other company be stealing your thunder, you'd look like a copycat when you release your system.So, to the question, obviously I prefer the 3DS. If you already have a DS, then great, just sit and wait. If you don't, pick up a DS Lite if you want a current Nintendo handheld. I wouldn't spend the money on the DSi or DSi XL now that the 3DS has been announced and is expected within a year.

the XL is an ok device. it is simply the DSi in a bigger size. Based on reviews from tech sites and game sites, they even claim that because of the increased screen size and the same resolution, it actually looks worse. I would wait for the 3ds which would be better than the XL in both hardware and software.

I'd personally go for the 3DS over the DSi XL, just because the 3DS is actually coming out with new tech. instead of a gimmicky larger-sized version of the DSi :(I'm totally a sucker for new technology stuff though, haha

I would prefer a 3DS because 3d capability is awesome and can be turned off. it also has new controls

The 3DS has so many new features that i have never heard of before that it actually seems like something worth buying. I've never bought anything gaming related before but this seems like a nice way to spend some of the money, The 3D, Graphics and New controls are great just to imagine .but I'm sure the game makers will find nice ways to use them.

I'd think the people who bought a DSi XL wont be buying the 3DS as soon as it comes out, true the 3DS brings new features, but the DSi XL feels right in the hands for me, and the screen size is nice, though I've never used a DSi I've only used a DS Lite before getting a XL

As someone who owns a GB,GBC,GBA,GBA mini,DS,DSi and a DSiXL I can tell you that I will be buying this sweet little piece of technology as soon as it comes out!It isn't about one or the other, it's about having everything!Remember the old saying... He who dies with the most toys wins!

No. 3DS = 3D DSThe top screen can display 3D images and you don't even need special glasses to see them. It also has many new controls. There is a pinned topic in the NDS section3DS = 3 screens...? Lol Im new to these

I choose to wait for 3ds. 3 reason why:1. It's 3D (Nice graphic, better than dsi XL)2. NEW Games and features. Which is not gonna be released for dsi XL/dsi/lite (probably)3. It's has More advanced technology better than any previous ds.P.S.: Maybe I'll wait for 3ds XL. If nintendo gonna released it soon like dsi

from what i understand, the 3ds isnt just another nds, its like the nds 2, and id rather have it because well, 1 3d is awsome, 2 if u dont like 3d you can turn it down it give 3d films, and the ability to take 3d photo's how cool is that. im defently buying 1 when it comes out along with pokemon black and hopefuly a flash kart for the 3ds if theres is 1 when i buy it

I'd rather have a 3DS because it seems like something NEW instead of just a nds with a couple features I wouldn't use anyways :3 I hear they're remaking games to be in 3D, I'm really interested to see how my favorite games look in 3D

3ds will be a different console, i think that they would have their own gamesat least the cartidge is very different from the normal ds cartidge

personally think DSi sucks, it hardly has any new features from the DS and the extra features it does have arent very useful and are said to be crap3DS on the other hand has 3D! and supposedly way better graphics from the DS and its sexy :3
