So recently i have played a lot of Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii and loved it. This got me thinking about the other games in the series and saw that the most popular ones are on the PSP. Therefore i was thinking about purchasing a PSP just for those games specifically. Is that even worth it? I would imagine, since im doing it for a game, that i should find a older used one to minimize costs. That why im posting.Thoughts on how to go about getting one? Is the newer generation really worth the extra money? or will i be happy on a first gen one i find cheaply?

1. Newer generation is NOT Worth the money, 2. Older generations can be hacked to run homebrew. These are 2000 with With Firmware 5.50 or lower. (This i'm not so sure about)3000s with Firmware 5.03 or lower. 1000s, Any should work because pandora's work.Running homebrew also means... Backups.

I also thought a lot about the PSP for a time, as I'm a big Metal Gear Solid fan and didn't want to pass up any of the side-story games. However, after my roommate got it, I slowly began to lose interest, as it just seemed that the DS was the better investment as more games I would want to play were coming out on it. I think the PSP graphically outdoes the DS, what with games like Soul Calibur and Tekken, but in the long run, is it a "VG system" you're going to want to play a lot of games on?

i agree with you you can get homebrew games on it but the only good thing about the new gen is that it has a slide and more compact

It is only worth it if you the system has a lot of games that interest you. If you have a long list of games you want to play on the PSP then you should get it because you'll have a good experience with it.
