Now there are a lot of great games out there for the DS but I recently came across one that I wasn't expecting to like as much but now I'm addicted to it. I found it going through the DS rankings on gamerankings.com and was surprised to see it's pretty high average score with reviewers and thought it was worth a look. It's a little independent-studio game called picpic and it's a puzzle game basically. There are 3 different modes, each with 400 (yup 400!) levels to work through. The first mode is like a maze, the second you have to connect blocks with the same number and the third is like minesweeper (for the PC). The graphics are nothing great and the music is annoying but it's the kind of jump in and go game that you can keep on and on playing without realising how much time you've wasted on it. So if anyone likes puzzle games you should definitely give it a go! Has anyone else played it?Incidentally, is it just me or is the DS really good for puzzle games? I'm thinking proffesor layton, picross, planet puzzle league etc.

The only puzzle game that really got me super addicted was the Professor Layton series...unless my memory is failing me again. Puzzle games tend to not sound as fun as the many other RPGs out there...but when you give them a shot, you can be surprised with what you have. A~h...I can't wait for the third game of Professor Layton. With the touch screen, the DS is pretty good for puzzle games...'specially the ones that you have to act quickly in and stuff. Like sliding things around, touching and many other actions.

Yup Puzzle games are the kind of thing you don't think you'd like that much but once you actually start playing them they get pretty addictive. I also love the professor layton games, some of the puzzles make you feel pretty stupid though once you know the answer. :-)
