You know, it's kinda hard to choose between these two, I mean on one hand you have an amazing game, Interesting Magic that can switch depending on which Djinn you have equipped to which ever Character, and a Game that is Also amazing, Amazing Summons with Generic Magic that will always be in every FF game.... It's all a matter if you like a 20 hour game to a 60 hour game, but I like both really. Golden Sun for it's Unique Magics, and Final Fantasy for it's amazing Stories.

On the handheld, I think Golden Sun outclasses Final Fantasy in terms of the puzzles and battle engine, but I do love the Final Fantasy games on the console. FFX is one of my favorite RPGs to date, I don't know why, but I just really enjoy that game for some reason.

Depends on which Final Fantasy; if you compared one of the better ones like VI, then I would choose that over Golden Sun. On the other hand, some of them like X-2, I would choose Golden Sun.

I've been playing Golden Sun lately, which is really fun. The last few main FF games haven't really been that great, I feel.

Oh my gosh Golden Sun SO HARD. I never got into FF at all, but I played through Golden Sun as soon as 1 and then 2 came out. Buying GS3 as soon as I can preorder it, and I'm really hoping that it isn't a disappointment like Swordcraft Story 3 was compared to 1&2.

for sure, i can't complain about that. i don't know why they made X-2, the ones until ff IX ( i don't like too much FF X)are the best, the XII is good too. not the version from DS, from that i prefer golden sun.talking about that made me want to play golden sun again. ;)

both games are amazing, the story of each Final Fantasy game is fairly similar as the follow the same pattern but each are different in their owns, while in GS it continues which i like but it sort of leaves a hole when the game doesn't end properlythe gameplay of both are very similar and i like the free roam of both

I personally prefer FF over Golden Sun, only because FF always seems more epic and creative, but Golden Sun came damn close. I'm not a fan of light-hearted storylines, so for me, that said a lot.

Final Fantasy used to be good, but they started to focus more on graphics than story/gameplay. Hopefully the new Golden Sun won't be like that.

Game developers often make games that the gamers want, so I think that most of the gamers prefer graphics than gameplay/story.So FF for me (the old ones)

the thing is that final fantasy lost it's qualities over the past years; the top 5 of all ff and golden sun games would be :1. FF 6 2. FF 9 3. Golden Sun 14. FF 106. FF 7

when i first saw the topic, i was like... damn, that's a tough choice. but you have the 'both' option, so i went the easy way out haha.both game series have their perks. i really enjoy golden sun's smooth story progression. with final fantasy, i wind up checking out a walk-thru at several points in the game cuz the ff games often make it tough figuring out what to do next after you complete a certain mission or story arc. ff requires lots and lots of mindless exploration and back-tracking (if you don't at least occasionally use a guide), which isn't bad but can get tedious at times. golden sun offers a great load of hints on where to go next in the gamealso golden sun seems more story intensive. lots of time spent scrolling thru text, which is both great and slightly annoying at the same time... depends on your preferred rpg-style. but i dunno, personally i find ff stories a bit more enjoyable for some unknown reason. maybe it's cuz i have lotsa nostalgic memories of final fantasy (first rpg i ever beat... well either ff or dragon warrior, can't specifically remember which i played first). i guess due to the nostalgia factor, i slightly prefer final fantasy over golden sun. but they're both great series

I am probably pretty biased, but I absolutely adore Golden Sun. The first RPG I ever really remember finishing was the second Golden Sun game. Also, personally, I feel like Final Fantasy gets a lot of ridiculous hype. I adored the sixth game, the seventh was fine, but anything beyond that just didn't really appeal to me. Just a personal opinion!
