Golden Sun, I believe- although this is mainly due to the first two games rather than the recent one. The puzzles in GS are fun too- messing around with reveal and mind read was always amusing.

I would go for Golden Sun, the story and characters a little better...

I prefer GS mainly because you could customize the characters with different djinns. FF is more.... well... grinding and was you level, you can gain different skills.

GS felt more grindy the most ff games if you were going for end game completion. The djinn system were no more different at customizing classes as FFX-2 sphere grid (which on the record is still pretty good despite it being one of the worst ff games of all time). Honestly I like some semblance of structure in my JRPGs and as for as variety goes, final fantasy delivers more. I would say story wise the better FF storylines overshadow the entirety of Golden Sun's world, especially that of land of Ivalice, so final fantasy wins by my book.

Golden sun owns ff in handheld, but ff has awesome games on consoles. I wonder how cool golden sun would be if it was made into a ps3 game

Final Fantasy. Its hard to compare since in Golden Sun you pretty much play an empty slate who doesn't say a single word throughout the game...

To be honest, it's really hard to pick between these two. <3 However, I'll have to lean towards Final Fantasy because I grew up with that series. Golden Sun has it's own warm spot in my heart, but Final Fantasy was there first, so... yeah. XD

It's hard to choose...But in terms of handheld gaming, I think Golden Sun really wins.Their graphics look better on a small little systemFF tries to make it cool with the new 3D kinda stuff in FF IV so it ends up looking a bit poor

FInal Fantasy usually has a deeper story while Golden Sun's characters are amazing.

I can honestly say that I've played about evenly between the two series (as far as time goes) and, while I do love the charm of the old/original Final Fantasy games and the story of some of the newer games, I must say that I love the concept, world, and battle system for Golden Sun. If I had to only pick one series, I'd definately pick Golden Sun. :)

I like Both, but I have fonder memories of Golden Sun. I'd play it late into the night during middle school, trying to find all of those djinn and the different summons. I also really like the battle system!

golden sun for the gameplay and puzzles is way better. Final fantasy is mostly dungeon crawling and not a lot of anything else

I think I like the the final fantasy storyline a lot better, but golden sun definitely had a very interesting concept with the magic outside of battles. I kinda wish that they would make more action-rpg's for the current game consoles. I still haven't found a game that I can get into as much as Seiken Densetsu III; fantastic storylines, great battle system, and the graphics were superb for a snes game.

I'd say GS all the way, but... that 3rd one killed it. Le sigh.
