I like the original pokemon games with the trainer better, probably because it has more features than the dungeon ones (dungeon can't enter contests)

I'm sorry, but the classic RPG style Pokemon games were meant for the old Nintendo devices. The touchscreen always seemed ridiculously redundant. Or maybe I'm old and really like Crystal and hate Heart Gold.I like Ranger. It's kind of lame, but it does use the touchscreen in a, if not innovative, at least useful way. I can see the new RPG Pokemon games on a more modern GBA, but I can't see Ranger on anything but DS.

for me dungeon didnt really feal pokemon-ish , espically since the system was a round based dungeon crawler, a really crappy concept

Original Pokemons "FTW", any other version is more or less undeveloped for me- I'm currently playing simultaneously Pokemon Ranger, Pokemon Emerald and Pokemon Platinum and I got to say, it's not the same with Ranger like with the others... this concept of Capture Styler etc., it's kinda cool but so "WTF" at moments... but hey, at least it's something new (wich is more or less needed as Pokemons are getting repetetive). It's true, what said Morkolodae few posts ago, you should include all of the series spin-offs in the poll to be more relevant; and I must agree with anaiira ~ Ranger is really DS-only stuff.

The original pokemon for the win. To me they have more substance to me. The duegeons are good but they sometimes cause you to wonder why are you subjecting yourself to such torture.

I've never played the Dungeon one's so I suppose I'd go for the original, just by default. I tried out the Guardian Rangers thing and it was complete crap. What's the point of catching a pokemon if you can't keep it!

To me there is no better way to play a game like that. Hunting and catching is what makes pokemon fun.

PMD has more of a regular RPG feel to it then the originals. But the no evolution thing does cramp style a little I guess.

Just can't get into Mystery Dungeon...not being able to evolve your Pokemon til the end of the game? No sir.Plus, adding Pokemon to your team whenever you feel like, rather than waiting to see if they'll join you, is a versatile way of playing and adds the feeling of choice and freedom to the mix.

the standard rpg is the best in my opinion with its varied parties but it might be fun to have one with multiple endings and a choice in jobs i.e. ranger, trainer, coordinator, etc.

Gotta catch 'em all, for sure. The mystery dungeons were a cute spin-off series, but they can't hold a candle (or whatever the saying is) to the main series. The main series can have you captivated for months on end if enjoyed and with all the new bonuses and mini-games they have nowadays, I can honestly say that even the older generation like myself can have fun with them.

Regular series all the way. Don't get me wrong, I played the first Mystery Dungeon, and while is was rather good and entertaining, I just couldn't get into it. The other spin-offs have been rather cool, too, but I'm a "gotta catch 'em all" nuthead through-n-through.I still play the 1st Gen. games from time to time, because nostalgia is my drug.

I prefer the regular, "gotta-catch-em-all" games. There's less of a whole plot to them than Mystery Dungeon, I think, but there are more places to explore, more things to do, and more Pokemon to choose from. I've played Mystery Dungeon before, and liked it well enough, but I still think the normal ones beat Mystery Dungeon. :D

For some reason, the mystery dungeon ones end up boring me or I get done with them too fast. With the original, it's so much easier to get the pokemon, and I don't finish the games as quickly. There's more places to explore.
