I prefer the original Pokemon games over the mystery dungeon games. At least on the origingal games, it is easier to heal your sick pokemon back to health with a potion. I have tried to play the mystery dungeon, however, that game is way over my head. Also the pokemon character you are assigned to is based on the questionaire at the beginning of the game. As for the original, it's just pick the best starter for yourself, and get going.

Dungeon games get piss boring after the main adventure, and you can't evolve before then.

Well pretty self explanatory so... which do you prefer and why?

The regulasr games add a flare that the others do not. Now if they made a pokemon tv show that was like pokemon mystery dungen then it would become a better game.

im gonna have to say gotta catch em all series however the mystery dungeon ones put me in a different perspective to thinking about pokemon like what if there was a town ran by pokemon and in pokemon mystery i got a chance to see and it was awsome but the catch em all is more original for my enjoyment :)

Traditional pokemon carries more nostalgia with it, and offers a wider variety of challenges. Mystery Dungeon games are fun, but lack the post-plot game play. They have a different charm though. Being in complete control of a pokemon as opposed to a human trainer makes it feel rather refreshing.Though it wasn't an option, Ranger games would be my last choice. The sprites are cute, and it'd have been nice for them to be used in the Mystery Dungeon games, as they are more fluid looking. However the actual game-play leaves a lot to be desired. Plus, they are quicker to complete than the main games. Replay value? Not really.
