There are quite a few my coach games out there to learn a new language, I want to know from you guys if you have ever tried out any of them and whether or not they have worked for youI personally have not tried any but i currently am looking for an effective way to learn Gujarati and was wondering if the my coach series had a game that teachers it.

YES! I loved it so much i wrote a review about it here. My girlfriend is korean and talks chinese and english aswell, so i wanted to learn chinese for her. Before i downloaded the game i could only use very little, very basic chinese but now im getting much better. The My 'X' coach games are very good, they use small lessons where you must master a certain set of words before you go to the next lesson. This makes you remember it pretty well. You can also play minigames to go over words you know / learning! As for Gujarati, sadly, there isnt a coach game for that language yet, sorry.

I was really looking forward to a German one, but I still don't know if there is one coming out. I would really like that cause I heard they are pretty good at teaching how to speak

Actually, they do. I just don't have the time to always play with it and end up forgetting a lot. :D What? I can't help it to forget the Japanese I learn while I have to memorize Chinese in school!

I think they will keep expanding the languages, well i hope. Not sure how popular they are, not that many people want education games.

I've used My Japanese Coach, and yes, it's pretty good for learning basic sentence patterns and words. However, if you really want to learn a language, get a good textbook and get to work!

It's hard to tell with a proper study on the games.Back in the day, I learned English to finish Chrono Trigger on the SNES.I guess many people still learn a lor of English (or even Japanese) playing games, so, I can't say they are definitely not helping. But it's really hard to tell if they really are too.It seems only the most hardcore players still play the long RPGs, filled with text. These kids nowadays seems to like Action games more than reading some text.At least we still have games like Mass Effect, full of content.

I got Japanese and I actually did learn a bit in the beginning but with these games it's pretty easy to get bored with the lessons or simply not have the time to work with them. I only ended up learning some numbers, colors, and basic words before I stopped...
