I've never broken my L and R buttons, mostly because I rarely ever use them in games, so I wouldn't know if they stopped working anyway. I do have the common problem of two very unresponsive "A" and "X" buttons though.

Well I haven't completely broken it but it severed, it takes me a hammer just for it to respond. I mean its completely useless now Im just glad that a lot of games don't require the R button to work or else id have to get a new Ds just because the R button doesn't work...I wonder if there's any way of fixing it?

But its OK for now, I am waiting for Nintendo 3DDS ;D I cant wait for that one! Would be awsome if they also released another XL version of Nintendo 3DDS XL! WOOOOOT

I did once before. What happened was that it was like L/R was always being pressed. I had no idea how it happened or how to fix it.

I broke the L button on my old DS. Ever try playing Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories when you can only scroll through your attack cards in one direction? It's almost impossible.

My L button's been failing at times, but it usually works. My R button used to fail a few years ago, but I haven't had any problems with it recently.

I have, it's so annoying. Because Pokemon Diamond had the option to have R=A, so I used R instead of A. XD

Not broken, but on my old DS, the L button would stick a lot and it would take a bit to get it to actually push down the right way. Just before the DS itself took a turn for the worst (The screen on bottom showed up on the top one. ;) ) the R button started doing it too. But then again, I'd had it for like.. 4 years or so and took it with me enough that I dropped it many, many times and almost always on the L or R buttons. Really, they shouldn't be stuck out there like that if they didn't want hurt when the system gets dropped. :)
