I think that the original Infinity ward call of duties are great. They situate you into the boots of average soldier, and you get to see the spectrum of chaos, and insanity in war, it was just cool to see that in a game for the first time. I'm not saying the new COD's are bad, but the conventions are getting boring(you are an important soldier and you save the world on behalf of america), and the online is just packed with 13 year olds, and campers.

I agree completely, except that i think the new game engine in CoD4 was the best of the series, as the original engine had some problems(like the fact you move fairly slowly).I think that the original Infinity ward call of duties are great. Black ops just looked too cartoony for me. Also I'm more into the modern guns then the old stuff.

I'm still playing World At War, just enjoy the atmosphere and despite the fact that my shooting is frankly rubbish, I can do ok by using all sorts of cheap tricks that the purists will sneer at!

My first game was World at War, so of course I would lean towards that. CoD 2 was amazing, and so was Modern Warfare 2 (Yes, I actually LIKED that game), but World at War was the one that started it for me,so I guess my decision will land there.

I would say MW2, BO isnt that bad but i rather play MW2

WaW definetly. I don't care if Black Ops is the superman of the series. WaW seems to be the only one with a valid story.

DEfinetly black ops. Modrn warfare 2(the main competition i think) was O.K but the multiplayer is just more functional and better working on black ops. ALSO THE zombies mode is really cool and mw2 SPEC OPS SUCKED. I mean it was a really big dissapointment ALso there isnt as much n00btuubing in codbo than in mw2. That SURE GOT NANOYING. Plus, the newest one is practically almost always the best new one. U eventually get tired of the same ol mw2 again and again;

I think a lot of people like black ops because the online multiplayer system is easier to adapt to, although one might also argue that the wager system brings brand new challenges. I happen to disagree while I favor modern warfare 2 because I enjoy the choice in weaponry, although the WA2000 is not a worthwhile weapon...eh I've shot better, the DSR 1 from Germany on the other hand...well crafted, it can be a great annoyance trying get all attachments, specifically extended mags by getting forty bullet penetration kills. Being that some kills count, like shooting through a wall or shooting through another person, and others not, like objects that can be moved by shooting them on the map, it can get very frustrating. Unfortunately, campers will probably always be on most servers as well, that seems to be the most effective method in real life, although one would wonder why one wants to call in air support at all? Seriously, if I can call it, its coming, be it helicopter, plane or nuke like in the first seconds I'm there, no hesitation, but I digress, yes camping positions, if you can get away with it go for it, as frustrating as it is it is nothing as much as noob toobers.

COD 4 is the best imo, it was mainly gun on gun. After that there a lot of over used and over powered perks and killstreaks.

For the best single player, COD 4, hands down. I played intermittently until I got to the end of Act 1, then I stayed up all night to finish it. Multiplayer-wise, Black Ops is the best. I loved where Treyarch was going with the wager system and currency.
