Is the Wii a console worth buying, it's graphics have fallen WAY behind the curb of PC's? I noticed that all the consoles are falling behind, I own a wii, but it's graphics are pretty bad!

Nintendo's aims have never been about graphics except for when trying out a different style (like LoZ:Skyward Sword), as their focus has always been on innovation in gameplay and attempts at replayability/fun. Oh, and for the record, the PC has always been ahead in every field, hence the CPU, RAM, hard drive, and everything else in between since it's supposed to run an operating system and perform tasks. A gaming console is just to run its own OS and play games. Nothing more.

The Wii isn't obselete. Due to it's ease of hacking, and the ease of ISO distribution (we're talking a max of 7.5ish GB in a game) a person could collect a bank load of games of the internet, such as myself. Wii does four player locally, unlike PS3, and you dont pay for internet, unlike XBOX360.

The Wii may not be as powerful as the PS3, Xbox360 or high-end PCs, there is no doubt that the Wii is still the ultimate party-game system. No other console can entertain as many people at the same time as the Wii does. Whether you're playing or just watching others flailing about as they play there's always a fun time to be had. So the Wii is deffinitely not dead and it won't be for quite some time I'd say. =D

The Wii is not dead. It's a great party console and something to play with your friends. Also, Super Smash Bros Brawl is amazing and to be honest the actual gameplay a fun you get out of playing the wii offsets the mediocre graphics.

So long as old folks in nursing homes can bowl in their wheelchairs, the Wii will never be obsolete. In all seriousness, the Wii does seem to be the current ultimate in party games. Which is handy, because that was Nintendo's intent from the start. The only major problem the Wii has is that its motion-sensing wasn't quite ready for release, causing some major problems with some games (LoZ: Twilight Princess comes to mind)

What exactly was so wrong with the controls in Zelda: TP? I absolutely had troubles with the controls until the battle with Zelda where you play "tennis" of sorts since you have to swing a bit before. But that's expected since a real swing or even a waggle takes more time to do/register than a button press. The Wii isn't the strongest thing out there, but comparing consoles to PCs is always going to be a joke. The best PCs honestly have always outclassed consoles in the past. The PS3 was an oddity in the sense that it actually was a pretty decent piece of hardware even compared to the top PCs. However, its really odd architecture completely confused people and thus no one knew how to leverage its 8 cores at first.

Wii is great for parties/group play and as mentioned is easy to hack. But I agree the motion sensor is lacking especially now that PS3 and Xbox are biting its style and doing a better job at it.

I don't think the wii's graphics are bad. They certainly can't compete with the top of the line pc or ps 3 games but considering I still play my snes games I would have trouble calling wii graphics bad. Furthermore, If you want to play new nintendo games you need a wii, this said it is impossible for the wii to be obsolete because it is nintendo's most advanced console to date.

That could be arguable. Seeing as a console has to put up with 4-7 years of ever changing and upgrading PCs. Also, there are some functions PCs cannot perform that consoles and handhelds are capable of.

The wii isnt obsolete its just not nintendo's priority. Right now nintendo is working on the 3ds and they are also going to show their newest home console at E3 this year.

The wii has asembled so far, a very fun line up, especially if you are a fan of nintendo's first party franchises. There may not be as much third party support, but you can get the rest of games that are worth it on PC

I would say it can be worth it, because of the new zelda game.but if you are not into that, then when the wiiyuu comes out its an upconvert, kinda like the sega CD and the 32X.but it includes a controller with a screen on it, and a ton of other features, and yeah, they do have games that you can play with the classic controllers/Game Cube controllers (only nintendo ones i know of are the DBZ games, harvest moon, and smash bros.)

yeah, because they decided to make a console based on motion tech, all the hardcore fans were lost, i personally just buy zelda and metroid titles now.or trauma center, or harvest moon, thats about it, i stopped getting naruto games for nintendo consoles since clash of ninja revolution.but they could make it better if they make a power glove like thing that works, for both hands.that would make it hardcore again,

Yeah, the wii wasnt really a gamer console to begin with i think. It still does what it meant to do, which is be a party or family console for more than 2 people to play with. Its still good.

I wouldn't say the Wii is "obselete" because it's a good system for kids to play with. It gets them active in a way, but not as much as something Xbox's Kinect would have but it's still good. I play my Wii once in a while because it'd be good for casual gamers and good for parties.

I wouldn't say it's obsolete. Sure, it may not have the graphics like its competitors, but....dude, it's Nintendo. Have their graphics ever been all that amazing? Nah. And yet, we love them anyway. Sometimes simplicity can be better. Is it as powerful as the competitors? Nope. And yet, which console seems to have the widest demographic among different ages and types of players? It's the Wii. So, even with the lame Wii U coming out, the Wii won't be obsolete. Just watch.

I don't think its obsolete. Not even without the nonrestrictive internet or ease of hacking. No really, I'm under the impression Nintendo will stay in business via Mario and Zelda alone. That's really the only logical conclusion since the Wii was already so behind other consoles when it came out, but low and behold my dad plays every Zelda game, and he owns a wii. Edit: I know nothing about the Wii U. Is that the thing where the controller has another screen on it? Cause I hope the graphics on that are balling since my dad will try to buy it when there's a Zelda game. Might as well check out any RPGs that come out.

The graphics are relatively bad, but several Wii-centric games such as Wii Party etc. provide entertainment to the not-hardcore gamer. And of course, it has Monster Hunter Tri.

the Wii isn't as powerful and popular as the xbox360 and the ps3 but it still has its own originality

I strongly believe that the wii was never really meant for single person play. I believe that the wii was meant more for a party or for a group of people to play. :)
