did you copy over the moonshell folder on the firmware? its your mp3,movie,picture viewer.Sorry if this has been asked already, but I can't get my R4 to play MP3's, what program do you need on the micro SD card to be able to play them?

Hello! I've got a question that I need to be resolved. I bought my R4 Revolution in a chinese store, so that means that the language is chinese when I load the R4, but do you know how to put it in English instead of chinese the menu of R4?Thank you in advanced.

Wohooo!!!!Got the Micro SD today so i'm in action, had no problems following the simple instructions and I just tested the first ROM Yoshi's Island and it worked!!!!, all English too so I lucked out 
, trouble is now all my mates at work want one!.I did have a couple of hairy moments though, I tried to drag and drop a load of .nds files over into the cards folder and they didn't go so I was like eh what happened there?, so I went into the folder and they were gone, the folder is now down from like 82 files to just 42 so I was ARGH thats another £7 worth of download points to get them back and I can't remember exactly which one's I had!. So I went into my recycle bin figuring they would be be there but they weren't, luckily all the original .rar files are still in there (thank god) so I hope I can just go and extract them again. Second hairy moment was when starting the R4, I clicked the icon and got an error message but I still got the game list so I selected a game anf got another long error, cannot find so and so etc so I thought oh typical i've managed to balls these ridiculously easy instructions up 
, you know what I had done?, I'd selected the multimedia option by mistake not the game icon!.==edit==Thanks for all your help with this guys!

sorry no, there is a lock built into into the chip, you would need to melt it off with a soldering iron, and only if you have the three batches they found out people knew about the lock and were just buying the japanese and turning them into english.Hello! I tried putting this folder in the root directory but it still didn't work....

Just ordered mins and is being shipped now, can't wait for it. Also very very nice guide I just had to read it and I like it, since I'll be a R4 owner soon XDand the R4 is all I need since I will only be playing NDS games, Pokemon was the only real GBA games I played lol.

R4 Rips off Kickgaming!http://www.kickgamin.../r4ds-c-46.htmlto make a story short, kick gaming ordered R4s, it was lost in transit, R4 will not send a replacment shipment nor will they refund the money saying, it left their warehouse, their obligation is done, they do not reimburse lost shipments, the shipping company dhl will not help kickgaming saying they cannot give out client shipping information and to contact them to resolve it, which R4 wont do saying its not their problem, in short in my opionion they robbed kickgaming, they paid for a product (in this case 300 R4's......), and never received.(Note Kickgaming used to be Kicktrading but they changed their name).

So I'm very much considering getting an R4.For some reason, DS roms don't excite me much. 0_o Although I suppose it's pretty awesome. I'm more interesting in music/movies/pictures/downloading the DS web browser and...other roms.:)What I really want is SNES and GB/GBC Roms...Now, of the few DS R4 Compatible emulators there are, would anybody say these are getting better? As in, will I someday be able to find a GBC or SNES Emulator that works just dandy with sound and everything, or no?Also-http://www.nxpgame.c...e2cf8ac085.aspxGood deal? there is already a snes emulator that works on the R4, its called snemulds, and as for gb,gbc emulators the ones that are out dont support color so while they can play the roms they are in black and white, and the ones i have found dont support R4 you need a flash card that plays gba roms to use them on.As for the price its up to you, if you are whiling to spend the extra money or not to get it faster, also strange as it might sound, you should order the R4 and 1gb micro sd on dealextreme separately they charge you only $45 if you buy them separately they added a couple extra dollars charge for some reason for the bundle when they ship it in the same package anyway if you buy it separately.So I'm very much considering getting an R4.For some reason, DS roms don't excite me much. 0_o Although I suppose it's pretty awesome. goomba is the gb emulator for gba. there is a goomba color actually, so you can play gbc games in color. of course, all of this requires a slot 2 solution, since you need to run in gba mode. as far as i know, there is no gb/gbc emulator for ds mode, but it should be technically feasible. i guess, just watch for one just incase somebody decides to make one.

As long as the files are somewhere on the card, you can traverse through folders much like you can do with Windows Explorer. I personally have a folder called NDS sitting in the root of the card as I like to keep things organizedDoes any one mind posting up a image of how the files look on their micro sd cards? I just want to make 100% sure I've got everything in the right place.

thanks for the help, but it still doesn't settle my mind that I've got it right, just don't want to turn my ds on and it end up being wrong, and then not knowing how to fix it. The R4 firmware zip contains both a file called "_DS_MSHL.NDS" and a directory called "moonshl". Both of these need to be sitting in the root of your card in order for the "multimedia" startup option to work.Could anyone help me please? I still cannot play Mp3's, info on the last page, thanks in advance

I just got my R4 over the weekend. So far, my only issues are games freezing up on me. Is the freezing associated with the R4? Or is it caused by the ROM file itself? Mario Kart - trying to connect to wireless networkCastlevania: Portrait of Ruin - half the time I try to speak to 'Wind', it freezes.Trauma Center - during some of stagesSonic Hedgehog - random stagesDragon Quest Heroes - cannot progress after the 'enter name' at the beginning.I'm trying to figure out if there's something faulty with my R4 unit or if it's bad ROM data. Any feedback, greatly appreciated.

SD card not powerful enough?Thanks for the link, unfortunately C:PoR on my R4 freezes specifically when talking to Wind. Half the time it freezes up on me. I've already completed the Ghost Mission and haven't had any trouble teleporting (yet...knock on wood.).Also on top of things, my SanDisk MicroSD is a 2 GB - which isn't listed on the above link.Ahh well Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is the game,many have use to test the micro sd cards. its probably your micro sd card or roms, some groups release bad roms that dont work on slot 1 flash cards, and as for por, its a know issue with sandisk 2gb that freezes nothing you can do, also did you format your mico sd card with 64kb clusters?I just got my R4 over the weekend.
