you are unable to solder any but the very older ones, however chrisms (the maker of dldi) just hacked the R4 and released the files, in a program he calls r4decrypt, which has lead to peple started hacking their R4's, also after he released it someone improved upon it and made a new better one, yasu's decrypter is said to be the best even by chrism himself.but anyways here you go.http://www.savefile.com/files/793971(Hacked Chinese R4 firmware to be in English)If you know how to solder. Scroll to the bottom to DBGs post. You can use that to make yours an English R4.http://www.dgemu.com...w...15957&st=15

You can solder any version, the schematic is still the same. you look at the original you can basically see what parts on the chip to solder.you are unable to solder any but the very older ones, however chrisms (the maker of dldi) just hacked the R4 and released the files, in a program he calls r4decrypt, which has lead to peple started hacking their R4's, also after he released it someone improved upon it and made a new better one, yasu's decrypter is said to be the best even by chrism himself.but anyways here you go.http://www.savefile.com/files/793971(Hacked Chinese R4 firmware to be in English)

i doubt he is willing to solder off the epoxy (black glue), that the newer chips have on them, all the newer ones, they are putting glue in that area although it is possible to melt it away but you risk the chance of frying your R4.You can solder any version, the schematic is still the same. you look at the original you can basically see what parts on the chip to solder.

Right, I understand that. In the flashing forum it says it requires "There are several different ways:1. GBA flash cart with either the NDS rom patcher by ]{ain or the WRG rom patcher2. Supercard - which is similar to the GBA flash cart, just works a lot better with NDS roms and doesn't always need patching3. M3 - seems to be the best out there so far. Its a lot like the GBAMP but its for the DS and can do basically everything from ROMs to Media.4. Neo Flash kit - first DS flash cart released, mostly used by DS Dev teams since they get them for free. It is quite expensive but has the highest compatability.5. XG Flash 2 turbo plus - don't know much about abit, but seems similar to the supercard6. Flash 2 Advance - standard flash cart with built in memoryIn order to use these there is a key element needed. Either the firmwire or flashme update for your DS. In order to do this you either need:1. dspassme2. passkey/magickey"I can use the R4 as the dspassme, or passkey/magickey thing right? I plan on using a slot 2 flash though.you just need a R4, you can flash with a R4 but there is no safety protection if your ds turns off, it is for slot 2 flash carts only please be carefull if your ds turns off during flashing you are screwed, if your ds turns off during flashing there is a chance you wont be able to recover it, on slot 2 flash carts there is a button combination that you press and it will reboot the flashing process.

the flash me program is a nds file, it cant be run in gba mode, all a pass key does is boot your slot 2 flash cart in ds rom mode, so yes a R4 can do it.I can use the R4 as the dspassme, or passkey/magickey thing right? I plan on using a slot 2 flash though.

btw the link doesn't lead me to a dl or anything like that.... there's no file. anyhooo.. so i'm using schinese firmware on my chinese r4. if i'm understanding correctly, i can have r4 running in english with this decrypter. are there any flaws with it? and isn't it harmful to the r4 or ds in anyway?you are unable to solder any but the very older ones, however chrisms (the maker of dldi) just hacked the R4 and released the files, in a program he calls r4decrypt, which has lead to peple started hacking their R4's, also after he released it someone improved upon it and made a new better one, yasu's decrypter is said to be the best even by chrism himself.but anyways here you go.http://www.savefile.com/files/793971(Hacked Chinese R4 firmware to be in English)

Is the black glue covoring up both sides? because you just need to follow a trace and put some 30+ awg wire and it would be fine.Iīve havnīt heard of any of my freids R4īs dying.. They seem to work just fine,, But maybe there are diferent versions.. Iīve heard a roumor that it runs on a internal battery.. Wish would explain the R4 death.. But thatīs nothing iīve experiensed..

thats not the point, i have a soldering kit since i used it to mod stuff, but most people dont, not to mention the hassle of opening up their R4 and melting it off when they can just download a hacked firmware and be done, you are forgetting that we have kids or parents here without any knowledge at all about this stuff and they would balk at having to do it when there is a downloadable solution. Is the black glue covoring up both sides? because you just need to follow a trace and put some 30+ awg wire and it would be fine.

I never said do it no matter what, I said if you know how to solder then you should do it. I have been soldering basic stuff for years since I was 14 its not hard to pick up. There is 1 hacked firmware that they can get, no constant update with big fixes, updates ect.Addition, you wouldn't even need to melt it off. You connect 2 points with a little piece of wire and solder.thats not the point, i have a soldering kit since i used it to mod stuff, but most people dont, not to mention the hassle of opening up their R4 and melting it off when they can just download a hacked firmware and be done, you are forgetting that we have kids or parents here without any knowledge at all about this stuff and they would balk at having to do it when there is a downloadable solution.

pardon? if you are new to R4, then you dont need to, when you put a new ds rom on the card, and start it up with the R4 for the first time, you will get a error message, that reads Warning: Can't find teh Sav for this file do you want to create it? it will then give you three options, Ok,cancel, ignore, clicking ok will make a new save file, clicking cancel will return to the rom selection menu, ignore will try to boot the game without a save but usually just results in a crash.if you are asking how to convert save files, download the R4 save converter on first page, and rename the save file to the exact same name as the rom.How do I put game saves?

you go here.http://www.shunyweb.info/index.phpits a online save game converter, all save games must in in R4 format, lets say you download a save game from gamefaqs.com, the saves there are in .duc format while the R4 only support 512kb sav files, you will need to run it throught his program.it will then give you a save file that works on R4.but before you put it on the card you will need to rename it, for example the pokemon rom on your micro sd is named 1015 pokemon diamond.nds, you will need to rename the converted save file 1015 pokemon diamond.sav, the rom and the save game have to be the exact same name or it wont work.also you dont need to download pokemon saves, here is pokemon save editor its very user friendly you can give yourself whatever pokemon and items you want and even edit their stats and complete your pokedex within seconds.http://www.dgemu.com...howtopic=255068also R4 has pokemon cheat codes so you dont need it.Sorry, i wasn't too clear with my question. I was asking how do i put a game save in the R4. Like I downloaded a game save for say...Pokemon or something, how do i put it in there?
