from what i understand any 2gb sd card is good as long as you format it with 64kb clusters, the bigger the clusters the slower the access time on the card.I want to go ahead and purchase a new 2GB MicroSD card. Only question is: Which is the best? I seen the Kingston being cheap due to it's brand...let me know so I can move forward in my decision. Thanks!

I dont suggest throwing it away, it has a lot of programs you can use for your R4.i threw it away, its the same one you download off the internet, when they make the R4 they make a cd with the latest firmware but by the time you get it, the firmware is usually old.

Hey, I use the rom trimmer on the disc every time I get a new rom (which is almost every day). So if you think that over, it is pretty useful.well most of the programs on there are outdated, and some place like bamboo gaming dont even give it to you, i did not need anything on that cd but maybe someone will.

Rom trimming is very useful but some games tend to have minor problems with multiplayer modes when you trim the rom (ie: running slower or crashing). It depends on the file size. You should trim all the games you downloadThis is a good program to have, read this for more information.

its a problem with the R4 trimmer, the trimmer takes too much off the rom, its a known problem that the R4 trimmer trims the wifi data off to save room, and people have complained about it on other forums, it is recommended you use a another rom trimmer, if you want wifi.http://gbatemp.net/i...topic=45146&hl=Do you know anything about the R4 buddy?

Thank CoolMosChanging it is really, really simple.1. Download the English firmware (1.10)2. Download the patcher, either here or here.3. Make a directory and unrar the patcher there.4. From the firmware, extract _DS_MENU.DAT and place it in the directory where the patcher is.5. Start the patcher, and answer the questions.6. You now have a new _DS_MENU.DAT in the directory, and the former one renamed to _DS_MENU.DAT.old.7. Put the 1.10 firmware you downloaded on the R4DS.8. Replace the standard _DS_MENU.DAT by the one you created when patching it.9. Start your engines.10. Smile.I was informed this should allow you to use the English 1.10 on the Chinese R4DATA FILE FOR THE CHINESE VERSIONOR HERE
just do what dsgrim posted above but instead of downloading the english R4 kernel download the chinese one etc............Hello, I hope you all can help me.I recently found out that you could patch a chinese R4 to English. I live very near china and bought the R4 not knowing it was English.I managed to patch it to version 1.09 by copying files from something i downloaded. When it comes to version 1.10 to avoid the save problem i extract the 4 files, patch _DS_MENU and put it on my R4.After this i tried it on my R4 but it just comes up with a blank screen.I really hope someone could help me, is it the questions im answering.I know i must sound like a n00b as this is my first post but I would be very greatful. Thanks in advance
