Oh, I see now. A few kids downloading roms to play on their DS is not an efficient way to crack down on privacy infringements, since there could be millions and millions of them doing so, (especially in Asia) so Nintendo spends their money on the big rom sites where most of the money from their games are lost anyways?Even if you don't distribute, obtaining a rom for a game you don't own is still copyright infringement. It doesn't matter how noble your intent is.That said, copyright is civil law and not criminal law. The authorities aren't going to come after you for using an R4 unless the copyright holder (eg: Nintendo) specifically initiates an investigation of you, or if you're stupid enough to publicly flaunt that you're pirating, which amounts to a confession. Nintendo generally doesn't care about a few kids pirating games, as it's too expensive to be worth it to dig up the necessary proof. It's a more efficient use of their time to go after the big rom sites, and perhaps individuals who distribute online as it's easier to get proof there. Their success rate isn't very high though, as you can see.

Need Help! I am using r4ds.I can save in Pokemon Diamond. But when I turn off the DS and turn it back on, in the main menu the Ds is like operating Wireless and when I click continue the screen become black! please help
Are you using the latest firmware? Anyway, the game is supposed to be working in wireless mode for a second or two in the main menu, because it needs to check for events like the Manaphy egg.
Can someone here answer my question?I just updated to Version 1.10so the firmware HAS to be the latest. So it's automatically, heh? I think it because I accidentally click the Wi-Fi connection Option in Main MenuEdit: how long is the loading prosess is ? because I waited more that 1 minute and the screen still blacK

You mentioned in the video that you don't know what the red dot in the top right corner is for... It's the software reset toggle. The dot is green when on and red when off. When on, it allows you to reset to the R4 menu from within a game without using the power switch by pressing ABXY and the L&R shoulder buttons all at the same time. Some games don't work with software reset, which is why it's a toggle and defaults to off.heres a vid of myself just going through what comes in the box and what you can do with the R4 on the DS. i might edit it to incorporate the use of the DS browser soon. sorry if i speak to fast or the DS/R4 isnt in the focus most of the time. ill do a example of video on a DS sometime soon as well.

if you download here at dgemu you dont dont have to worry about it being a trojan, if you download the rom from another website there is really no way to know, so as long as you download from trusted sources there really is no worry.can someone quickly explain the safest way to play games using my r4 without the game having a virus or trojan? like what programs to use to find the trojans in the files? i ave a few programs and i think it's called dslazy. it says it trims and uses a program called crashme, but i still don't feel too safe..can someone help me out?

i dont download from here at dgemu i use torrents or warez forums i go too, i cannot post links to then since its against the rules there are also some other great rom sites out there, again its against the rules for me to mention them, i only meant that you should download from sites like dgemu where you know where the roms are coming from.i'm planning on downloading from here then. but does that mean that i have to do all this dp and gp stuff all the time?and if so, about how many games do you think i can download in one day? like 1 or 2?

R4 makes M3 simply, R4 leashes their parts to M3 simply and you can use their software on each other by flipping a switch on the chip inside, and as for the cyclo evolution it has better download play (its at 100% while R4/Me simply is at 60% download play), although if you dont download play the R4/M3 simply is cheaper then a cyclo thats for sure, and all 3 of them uses micro sd card, but the cyclo also takes the newer micro sdhc, so the cyclo evolutin can suppor up to 32gb cards while R4/M3 simply can only support up to 4gb micro sd cards, although the only thing i can think off that R4/M3 simply have over cyclo is that on a R4/M3 simply you can put in your own action replay codes on a cyclo evolution you can only use the action replay codes they give you.Is the "R4" worth buying or the "M3" worth buying? I also heard there a "cyclo evolution DS", what the differcien between "R4 revolution DS" and "cyclo evolution DS"?Do they have built in memory? or do you need to buy a SD inorder to store data?

CycloDS Evo guide for comparison here: http://www.dgemu.com...howtopic=275313Both the R4 and the Evo use microSD cards. You can compare the two using the first post from each guide but the gist of it is that the Evo has an in-game menu, better download play support and can use higher-capacity microSD cards than the R4, but the R4 seems to have slightly better homebrew support, and its cheat system is far more robust than the Evo's.Is the "R4" worth buying or the "M3" worth buying? I also heard there a "cyclo evolution DS", what the differcien between "R4 revolution DS" and "cyclo evolution DS"?Do they have built in memory? or do you need to buy a SD inorder to store data?

retail stores wont carry the R4, although i have seen them in electronic stores before, you wont find them in major stores like walmart, circuit city, best buy but you might be able to get them at local stores, i have seen R4,M3 simply, etc....... sold before at local stores but its so much cheaper to buy them online, i mean you can get a R4 for only $32 dollars with free shipping from dealextreme.com.can you only buy the R4 from online? what about from retail store?

- How many ROM's can a normal 1 Gig Stick hold?
- How reliable is the R4(Like durability, how long it will last, etc.)
- Is it repaired if something happens and if I purchase it from a place such as Amazon but need it fixed, would I send it to the making company?
- Where would one go about purchasing one with a Prepaid card?
- What do I do if the spring breaks?
- Concerning with compatibility, can the R4 play both Japanese and American games?
- Say I want to transfer Pokemon from a Japanese Pearl into my American Diamond, would WiFi work correctly or should I expect some trouble?
- Should I expect different loading times between Japanese and American versions?
- Average price on the R4 with a 1 Gig card?
- If I use a Prepaid credit card, would PayPal accept it?
- Does DealExtreme require me to verify my account(I'm only 14 so I don't have a bank account) in order to purchase?
- How long is the wait time for DealExtreme?
- When I sign-up for PayPal, do they send me Mail or call me?

on a mac, DO NOT SIMPLY TAKE IT OUT, you need to hit the eject button, i am thinking that is why you are bricking them, on a windows pc you can go ahead and just pull it out, and maybe its the sd card reader the one that comes with R4 is known to brick miro sd cards (the earlier ones were extrememly cheap).Help!!!I followed the instructions in the first post with my two Kingston 2GB Japanese MicroSDs (bought them from a local autorised reseller). -Reformatted in Fat16 for the first card, then Fat32 for the second.-downloaded the English 1.10 firmware, unzipped and copied the contents into the MicroSDs.-Slot the MSDs into the R4 - into the DS.Once I powered on the DS, it goes to the main R4 page and it hangs there.I power the console off, removed the MicroSD from the R4 and tried hooking the MSD to my Mac and PC.Then here's the problem:Somewhere, somehow, something 'bricked' the MicroSDs. I'm unable to detect the cards anymore. I've tried both but the comp doesn't even 'know' that the SDs are inserted!!!Can someone tell me what to do?Edit:I've already exchanged both MicroSDs for new ones.and now I have 'disabled' four MicroSDs in total.
the amound of roms a card can hold depends on the games, some games are really big (128mbs), while some games are really small (8mbs), so you could hold 7 128mb games or many smaller games (example of some 128mb games are Elite Beat Agent, Final Fantasy 3, Hotel Room Dust 215, Lunar Knights etc.......).I know of some people who have already broken their R4s, the spring goes easily if you put too much pressure, also if you take it in and out alot, it will stop working, but people have fixed this by cleaning out the inside of their R4.R4's are not repaired, there is no service to repair them, if your unit is defective upon arrival you are to return it for a exchange if it brakes by your use, its on you although some websites have 2-3 month return policy (dealextreme does not)I have no idea a place that accepts prepaid cards.if you spring breaks all you can do is rip the spring out there are videos on youtube of people riping their springs out.R4 can play japanese games fine, its a chinese company and they have a cheaper chinese version. The R4 can play online play just as good as a real game.Okay, here goes.I am planning to get an R4(Be it by Prepaid Visa or for my birthday) and I was wondering about some things.
Now with my payment questions via this site and PayPal.
Also, what kind of excuse would I make for getting this if my parents ask?
- If I use a Prepaid credit card, would PayPal accept it?
- Does DealExtreme require me to verify my account(I'm only 14 so I don't have a bank account) in order to purchase?
- How long is the wait time for DealExtreme?
- When I sign-up for PayPal, do they send me Mail or call me?

Dealextreme sells both English and Chinese versions of the R4, and they specifically state which is which. They also sell different microSD cards with different bundles, and they state what those are too.For example: http://www.dealextre...ils.dx/sku.1459English R4 with the highly-rated Kingston 1GB manufactured in Japan. All the details are right there on the page.what are some website where you can buy R4 from that are safe? When you buy it from "dealextreme.com", is the R4 english version? what about the Micro SD that come with it?
