the uploader here at dgemu tests if it real or not, although sometimes its a hacked version and if it is, they will take it down and put up the proper version (some groups hack roms for example on super robot robot wars they hacked a cheat into the game, some groups put in japanese voices over the english dub since they hate the american voices, a example of this is Lunar Knights if you can find the IND release of it, its the USA versoin but with japanese voices)it might not related to the topic, but, is it true that if you download from here that there is no Virus or trojen in the rom where it could damage the DS or the R4?

After consulting the guys over at the R4 forums, the problem is INDEED with the microSD adaptor that came with the product. I bought a new card-reader and it works flawlessly now.So DON'T USE THE R4 MICROSD READER THAT COMES WITH IN THE BOX! (else you'll spoil your MicroSD)Mods: if you're here, please help me update this info on the first page.on a mac, DO NOT SIMPLY TAKE IT OUT, you need to hit the eject button, i am thinking that is why you are bricking them, on a windows pc you can go ahead and just pull it out, and maybe its the sd card reader the one that comes with R4 is known to brick miro sd cards (the earlier ones were extrememly cheap).

If you want something posted on the front page, send the creator the proof of your statement (not just people saying its true) and he will most likely post it.The little reader can mess up your Micro SD card? I have been using it non stop for a month or so and I haven't had any troubles so far. this is for both of you, the first few shipments of R4's had defective micro sd readers, they were extrememly horrible qualtiy and they fell apart real easily (glue came undone), and they overheated (they become really warm), the heat messed up some peoples micro sd cards, the newer shipments this problem is suppose to be fixed, (i know my friend uses the one that came with his R4 just fine), if you have a big blue micro sd card reader that came with your R4 i would throw it away if you the new small silver one you are fine.If you want something posted on the front page, send the creator the proof of your statement (not just people saying its true) and he will most likely post it.The little reader can mess up your Micro SD card? does bomberman wifi work for the R4? because i tried to wifi but i didnt get any signal. i can wifi with Mario Kart perfectly so i dont think its my router that is causing the problem and i dont think its the rom because i downloaded here and i didnt trim it or anything.unless bomberman only allows you to wifi with someone close to you Oo

Yes, but not right away, it will probably break over a long course of time (maybe a year or more of use), and after that, you can still put MicroSD cards into it, but they'll be annoying to insert/reinsert.is it true that the spring in the R4 break easily?

it depends on how much you use the spring, if you take your card in and out alot and press down on the spring too hard it will break, i know of some people who break it within a couple months, i know mine i have had it for 6 months already and the spring is starting to act up, with me needing to press down on both sides to make the spring stay in place.is it true that the spring in the R4 break easily?

There was a post a couple pages back saying they can be fixed. If it becomes too much of a problem maybe it'd be easier buying a replacement shell. I think they're around $3usd.

The spring mechanism is inside the microSD slot, which is soldered to the circuit board. Replacing the case won't fix the spring, but you can simply remove the spring and let friction hold the card in place. Handling the card without a spring works fine thanks to the notch in the top of the case.There was a post a couple pages back saying they can be fixed. If it becomes too much of a problem maybe it'd be easier buying a replacement shell. I think they're around $3usd.

The Rom is most likely patched.I redownload here and it worked beautifully ( 3rd Gym right now but i have defeat the 4th gym due to go to wrong way) and it can be saved and loaded with no problem at all.Thanks for the repliesredownload the rom, the one you have might be bad, and did you trim the rom? that might be the problem, the wifi might have been trimmed that is a problem with the R4 rom trimmer i know it trims off wifi to save room.

you are very confusing, you cant fix the spring if it breaks all you can do is rip it out, the shell does nothing, you can take off the shell and it will still work inside your ds, you are confusing everyone there is no fix, if it break, open the R4 out and rip the spring out, the R4 used to come with a spare shell so you could swap the colors to save and make more money they began packaging it with only 1 shell inside, and they began selling replacement sells separately, telling them to replace the shell is very wrong, they would just waste money since the spring would still be broken.I know replacing it doesn't fix it of course. acciedantlly i dropped my micro sd for my ds r4 tried hard to operate no use ( ds screen shows sd / tf error ) i inserted to card reader which came with it but to my pc cannot be read it says you must format .i did formated . when i bought r4 there is a cd came with so about 6 folder which one i have to put back to micro sd to run it back ( attach pic of folder)

Do you mean insert the MicroSD card into the R4? Well, i dont own R4, so i dont, sry... but try looking on the card it if is any picture that explain..If you mean insert the MicroSD card "into the pc"? Well then the r4 would come with a usb adapter to insert it into...

When you shin the R4, can you skin the R4 like what it say in the "M3 Simply Guide"? I not fully understand what it mean in the first post for shinning the R4, the description isn't clear.

if you want to make skins for you R4, just do the sam thing as the M3 simply guide, make sure the pictures are the exact width,height, and size and are named correctly.When you shin the R4, can you skin the R4 like what it say in the "M3 Simply Guide"? I wanted to update my r4 kernel from version 1.08 to 1.10, but after downloading and copying thenew files onto my 2gb microsd, i found I could no longer use cheats, or choose between twelve different themes/skins like I used to, and when i try to go on multimedia it says 'error cant find DS_MOONSHL_NDS' or something like that. Could someone please help me with this?
