fat16 is the file system used when windows 95 was around, they switched to fat32 when windows 98 came out, and now they use ntsf for xp/vista, some older slot 2 flash cards like ez flash iv only support fat16.I was wondering if you could have more than 12 themes on your R4? and, what the difference of choosing Fat 16 and 32?

You need the Cheat Database Editor which is available off the official R4 website. It's pretty simple enough to get the hang of, make either a cheat.dat or a usrcheat.dat, then open it up in the Databse Editor and add games and codes from there. There are also premade usrcheat.dats floating around, I believe the firmware package has a cheat.dat file in it with some games on it already.Heh, thats a brilliant cheats list, bob. Thank you for telling me. I needed to add some codes for pokemon Pearl. You, my good man/woman, are a life(read as "computer game") saver.You need the Cheat Database Editor which is available off the official R4 website. Because you're downloading the korean version. Go to the main website and click on the downloads tab on top. Then choose the latest English version.

Is there a good slot 2 device to go along with this card to play GBA games? and where can I purchase it? I obviously don't need something that plays NDS roms, I just want something that doesn't stick out of system. I saw the ezflash card but it seems to only hold 1 GBA game at a time.

NetHack DS isn't working for me on my R4 even though I'm pretty sure everything is in order.Does anyone know how to run NetHak DS on an R4?

Hi thanks for the guide and I managed to read through the first 10 pages of what followed but.....I became a bit confused at a few points the first being I've got a English DS and have just ordered a R4 (English) can I only download English/Europe games or can I download a Japanese game and play it if I want to.2nd can I get a virus on my DS if Im only playing games and not messing with homebrew things.3rd Do any pc virus scanners detect any of these viruses.Sorry if I posted in the wrong section and thanks for any replies (if any)

After creating a cheat database move it into the _system_ folder of your micro.USING ACTION REPLAY CHEAT CODE SYSTEMCan the R4 use cheat codes on DS roms?The answer is yes.The R4 firmware 1.08 and above comes with cheat codes on selected games, simply click Y to go to the cheat code option screen.If the game has cheat codes already supported a small box will appar on the bottom of the screen.
(sorry its in chinese, the red circled square simply says Press Y)When you click Y on a cheat code enabled game as Shown in the picture above.you will be sent to the cheat code list, mark which cheat codes you want and hit save.

No thats part of the firmware, if you don't want to see it then you can make the text color and the color around where the text appears the same

The save file is in the same location of the ROM, its like that so the R4 can find and load the save file more easily.Having a save file in a separate directory is possible but your save won't be loaded then.Is there a way to make the save files go into a different dir ????
