no, its different from a G6 lite or a G6 real.G6 lite is a slot 2 flash card and you have to patch roms to play.G6 real has 1-2gbs of memory built in, and uses its own software.

I think I've set the record for shortest amount of time before spring breaks...I bought my R4 about 7 days ago, and the spring for the microSD slot's already stuck...sigh, I guess I'm just unlucky. At the moment, I can still take out and put in the microSD with relative ease (and fingernails), which I'm unbelievably thankful for. This way I don't have to go thru the trouble of tearing out the spring as people have mentioned you can do. I'm sure it's super easy, but I fear messing with hardware cuz I'm a noob, and I figure if it ain't tooo broke, better not try to go fix it.

i have a problem with getting new firmware...i have a chinese version of the R4 but when i downloaded the Korean v1.1 and English 1.1 on the r4 site they didnt work. i suspect that's because my r4 is chinese not korean or english. if so, does anyone know where i can find the latest chinese firmware?...please?thanks! :(

I bet you intentionally did that just to break my record =DHow bad's the damage? Can you still pull out the microSD without much force, or is it pretty stuck?

Well mine wont take the little sd card now unless I squeeze the midlle of the card slightly otherwise the sping dont catch to hold it in place. The damn thing has flown across the room twice.

In that case, go with what most people do, which is use a small piece of tape to hold the microSD card in place while you play...cuz yeah, having your SD card spring out and fly across the rooms not good...especially if you're playing outside. Those little buggers don't come cheap.

I think I saw an ad for a 2 GB Sandisk one for about 29$ but that's still pretty expensive. Also, I found that Kingston usually has the cheaper microSD cards. (Sandisk is pretty expensive from my searches on the net).

hi everyone. actually ive posted this topic once in other topic. and someone said i shd hv posted here, so i post it here again. so here's my question:i was playing with my nds last nite and suddenly it went hang. so i turned the power off. and i tried to turn it on again, but as it's on, its not working anymore. it says "loading.." on the screen and i cant do anything abt it. i pressed every button and its not working. but it only happens to the R4 card. if i change the slot to other games, it's still working. i think it definitely has something to do with the R4 card. but if i connect the R4 to my computer (when i wanna add other games), its working. it only doesnt work in my nds. does anyone know how to fix that? what shd i do? cos i just bought the R4. dont tell me its broken.. T.Tand thank u lillaznkilla for replying me:Have you tried replacing the firmware? If that still doesn't work, then backup all the stuff on your micro SD and format the micro SD and put everything back on and check if the R4 works then.but my concern is:actually im still very new abt NDS and all the stuffs, so i hv no idea at all abt the 'firmware' that this guy's talking abt. so can anyone pls tell me abt that and what i shd exactly do? i really appreciate that, thanks alot guys.

Mine did the same thing the other day. Try formating the SD card then reload everything on it. You can goto the R4 website and download the new firmware here. If you still have any questions just ask.

First, extract the .nds file you downloaded. (Then, preferrably make a copy if the next few steps doesn't work)1. Get DSLazy here:http://l33t.spod.org...lazy/dslazy.zip2. Get the Arm7.bin file herehttp://files-ds-scen...iforce/arm7.bin3. Extract DSLazy and start it. Browse and choose the correct .nds file.4. Click NDS Unpack, you will get a new folder, called NDS_UNPACK or something like it.5. Overwrite the arm7.bin in that folder with the one you downloaded.6. Click NDS Packer, when prompted, choose filename and where to save the new .nds, have patience, this might take a moment.7. Finished! Copy to your ds-cart.taken from woof811 on afterdawn. may fix it.
