There's a new shell design for R4. They say it's just the shell that changed and not it's inside. Hope the spring issue has been fixed.

The R4 team have recently released their new design of R4. They say that no pushing of micro sd required. By looking at the picture, it seems that they placed the micro sd slot on the side and not on the top. Go to R4DS Website to see the image.

First, extract the .nds file you downloaded. (Then, preferrably make a copy if the next few steps doesn't work)1. Get DSLazy here:http://l33t.spod.org...lazy/dslazy.zip2. Get the Arm7.bin file herehttp://files-ds-scen...iforce/arm7.bin3. Extract DSLazy and start it. Browse and choose the correct .nds file.4. Click NDS Unpack, you will get a new folder, called NDS_UNPACK or something like it.5. Overwrite the arm7.bin in that folder with the one you downloaded.6. Click NDS Packer, when prompted, choose filename and where to save the new .nds, have patience, this might take a moment.7. Finished! Copy to your ds-cart.taken from woof811 on afterdawn. may fix it.

Thanks, this worked for me.

Play using a GBA emulator or get a EzFlash 3in1 Expansion pack, along with Rudolph's 3in1 exp tool you can use it to play GBA roms, turn it into a rumble or RAM expansion pack.

Anyone else a get this message when starting Moonshell all the time? (I do.) Does anyone have any clues how to make it go away, besides what the message says?

An error was detected while trying to access thedisc or a file. Please confirm the followings:Did the set up end normally? Is the "/moonshl" folder moved or deleted?Have you enabled the resume function with a mediathat is not supported?Do you have enough free space on your media? Please re-format the media and try again. Please try with a different media from anothermanufacturer.

Every R4 and M3 Simply I own has this error message come up everytime, even on the first use?!I own 3 R4s and a M3 simply, all have 2GB Sandisk Micro SDs.

No one knows how to get rid of it as of yet, and everyone gets that message, not just you. Just leave it as is.

You need the Microsoft .NET framework for DSLazy to work. DLDI files need to be patched, not opened, per se. To patch them, go here, download the Win32 GUI if you have Windows, and use the dlditool32 to patch your SNES emulator ROM (whichever it is).

I just got a R4, and I don't know if you must have a slot-2 cart to flash the ds. Do you recommend that I flash my ds lite to protect its firmware?

Reasons to flash:
  • Protect firmware from trojans - near obsolete problem
  • 100% download play compatibility as a receiving DS - R4 and CycloDS both have 100% download play compatibility as senders now
  • Boot slot-2 flashcart without extra hardware - you already have an R4
So there's basically no point in flashing nowadays.

Great tutorial and thanks for including those pics of the fake R4's, I had no idea that they existed and I plan on telling my friends who are about to buy their own.
