Has anybody played "Mario and Luigi - partner in time" and encounter a freeze up of the game where you are at a flying turtle ship at the beginning (further in the game a bit) of the game; the part where baby princess, baby Mario, Baby Luigi was attacked by flying alien ships. And, if you try to advance beyond the save point the game froze up. That I'm encountering every time I try go pass that point. By the way, I play it on my ds using a R4 with firmware 1.15.

I recently downloaded Miami Nights ROM for my R4 but when i turn on my DS all i get is two white screens. I was wondering if i was the only one? I try to play every DS game that looks even slightly interesting but it irritates me when ROMS dont work.

Try upgrading your Firmware for your R4.

When I try to download the kernel from the R4 main site, or their rom trimmer, it always shows up as a winamp file when I try to download it. Of course, these don't work when I try to use them. How do I convert them to their correct format?

Do you have winrar? since the format is .rar you'll need to install winrar and have .rar files associated with winrar.

Does what works with Mac? The R4 only needs the roms to be placed on the micro SD card, It doesn't really use any pc software unless your trimming roms, converting save or changing files inside the rom.

Did you put the firmware on the micro SD? If you did, then is it extracted? Although that last question does sound stupid there are people who didn't extract the firmware.

The R4 needs firmware to be able to function properly. Go here and download the newest firmware and then extract its contents into the root of your mirco SD.

Extract is to get the contents of the .rar or .zip outWhere as Root is the base folder of the drive, Lets say you have a empty card when you open it and see no folders or files, thats the root folder of your card.

Most of the time the speed should be fine, but you can experience slowdowns when there are lots of things happening on the screen.Eg, Luminous Arc with around 13 or more units on the screen.

Just wondering, but I've been playing FFXII: Revenant Wings and after Mission 3-3 my game freezes into a black screen. I'm using an R4. I'm wondering if it's my R4's problem, or the rom's problem, since I don't see it happening to anyone else yet. X_x

I was wondering, where can I purchase the R4 now since volumerate is currently out of stock? It would be nice if someone can post a place with the best deal. Thanks in advance.

I have a few questions.1) I've read of some slowdown on the R4, when alot of things are happening at once, Does the M3lite experience this too?2) Flashing is safer than not flashing? Does that mean with the R4 I'm highly likely to get a virus from just playing NDS roms?3) If all I want to do is play NDS roms, not GBA, or internet, or even movies. Then Is it worth splashing out money for the M3 when the R4 is quite a bit cheaper?4) Is there any way to avoid a fake R4 before purchasing it?Thanks :]

1) Possibly as this may depend on the type of card you use, but then there are games that will lag even if you have a fast card.2) Flashing will allow you to reflash your DS if it happens to get bricked, how likely you will get a bricker depends on where you get you stuff from.3) Which M3 are you talking about? The M3 Lite? The M3 lite will allow you to play GBA roms but all the roms you want to play will need to be patched. Since your only going to play nds roms, an R4 sounds better.4) Ask around, check what other people have to say about where they got their R4's from. So find a good dealer.
