I'm hoping this will get answered here, or I'm just gonna make a new topic and it will get closed instantly, so here goes.I didn't bother to update my R4 for the longest time from firmware 1.11 to 1.18 and now that I did (got the V1.18 download from GBAtemp.net) and installed it, everything works fine except for Moonshell, when I attempt to load it through the middle media selection, it freezes up on the game loading dialog box (no percentage filled on the bar, automatically freezes)I have put everything in the exact same fashion as the other firmware, and the only thing that I copied from the old firmware files is the "themes" folder since the new firmware did not include that.I as well, switched out the v1.18 moonshell files with v1.11 moonshell files to test with the rest of the v1.18 and it still did the same thing.Any ideas?

If you have still the original files you had BEFORE upgrading the firmware then you can do the following: put the old files on the root of your micro SD, then copy and paste the contents of the folder with the latest firmware (1.18) over it, you should keep all your files then (windows only replaces files that are double, so themes and such won't get replaced). If that won't work you can also try using the firmware from the R4 site as well, because I have no problem using moonshell at all after upgrading the firmware....

Yeah, since I was so skeptical, I removed all of the old firmware and saved it on my computer since I had the instinct something would go wrong, instead of overwriting it. Do you really think that would be the problem, that I didn't overwrite?If you don't know my issue, when you load a normal game, it gives you the "game loading" dialog box, and it does the same with moonshell, but there is no bar filling as it freezes, since I cannot soft reset neither.As per the R4 site, I believe only the .cn site is still active, I think they still have english language switch over on the site, but I'm not sure if the firmware is english. (it was kind of wierd that the gbatemp version didn't have the themes folder, or the startup and shutdown mp3 for moonshell (I tried adding that to the ew one and it still didn't work.)As well, would there be any downside to getting firmware updates? Other then this.... lol

Sonic Chronicles!it keeps telling me that it can't accessed the save data! Why?!

The game has been recorded that it doesn't work on the R4. Even the ARM7.bin fix doesn't do well.

Using my R4 on my DS I'm unable to play MySims Kingdomthe game autocreates the save file, but when the game starts it tells me "cannot find save file, reset your cartridge"resetting doesn't work, I've deleted the game, the save file, and transferred the game back over again, I've tried everything really..am I doing something wrong? The only other game which did this for me was a Metal Slug 7 rom I got from another site, most DGEmu Roms are perfect.

Try applying the ARM7.bin fix which u can find in the Flashcart FAQ. If that doesn't work you probably won't be able to play the game.

I applied the fix, and that appeared to work, it went to the language select screen, and then went black.This may be an addition to the pile for "does not work on R4" which is a shame

So u can reach the language selection screen, do u get a black screen when it gets there or when u select a language?If your getting a black screen when u reach the language selection u could probably bypass, with a .sav file that has already chosen a language then play normally.Try using this save, I've started MySims on my M3 REAL, selected the language then converted it the R4 save format. Hi guys,i need a little help in there with my R4 card. I just recieved it today, formated it, downloaded the latest kernel and stuffed roms on it. But I never get past the screen saying "loading..."I have tried latest english/chinese kernels, same issue. Using a Scandisc 2GB Micro SD card. I also took the files from the folder saying "English". I guess I'm just missing something but i can't seem to figure this one out alone. any ideas? Help would be really appreciated :awesome:edit: Ah..sorry...I realized what I have overlooked. The card I'm using is called R4SDHC and therefor requires a different kernel. Sorry, didn't see this earlier as my head feels like it's going to exploda any minute :awesome:

I got new games for my R4, but none of them work. They all say "Cannot access data." or something close to that, when I try to play them.Here are some examples of the games:Bleach: Dark SoulsKirby Super Star UltraDisgaea DSFIFA 09Rock Revolutionetc.So why don't they work?Additional Imformation:I haven't got any new games for my R4 in a while, but in the past, the newest game I had on my R4, by number, was FIFA Street 3, numbered 2044. Every game worked from that number and lower.I got my R4 a while ago, around two years ago. My cousin got an R4 a few months ago, it was a newer version so it had more applications and things, and the games that didn't work on my R4 worked on his, I believe that I have to download something for my R4, because maybe the newer roms are different, but I am not sure.

I'm not sure about all of them, but i can tell you Kirby Super Star Ultra runs perfect on mine. Try a different country (EU/US), or just Download it again, perhaps a bad download.

Well recently when i was playing my ds i closed it so it would pause but right when i closed it i noticed it made a weird noise and both the screens would flash on and off but when i opened it it would be at the part of the game i originally was and this hasent happend to me before i thoght it was the rom since i did download a new one but i played another game and closed the ds and the same thing happend i dont know if its my ds or my r4 but can i get some help? and its an r4 III with the latest firmware

When I load it on my R4DS it keeps saying "Can't access the DS memory. Please turn off your DS and reinsert the card."(or something like that) and I downloaded it from 3 sites!!! After I get some DP points I will get it from here and I hope that I don't get the same error. But in the mean while, do you guys have any idea how I may be able to play COD5?

First of all, always make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your R4 before playing any games. Has anyone tried YSMenu?As the R4 team will no longer be making firmware, a Japanese Developer has started making customfirmware for it.It's based on the DSTT Firmware, so it shows on the game selection screen if the game has download play.Thing is, I patched it for my R4, but it won't boot roms.Has anyone got YSMenu and has this problem?Or do you have YSMenu and have fixed this problem/I would really like to know!Thanks in advance!

Hi...I have a this NDS game that I have Arm7 patched it and I wanted to use Cheat Codes with it, but it won't work. I used the game before it was patched and I could see the [Cheat (Y)] box under it but after I patched it and I couldn't see it anymore. I even tried to open up the Cheat.DAT - the one from GBAtemp change the Game ID on the game that I patched with the Game ID of the game I took the Arm7 off from.. but sadly no luck. So could anyone out there help me? I found out that I need to change the Game ID - because it Changes after I Patched it.. so, how do I find the Game Id of the game that was patched? Also I am using R4

Which cheat editor are you using? Theres a cheat editor pack on GBATemp and one of them has a function which u can use to get the game ID by opening the .nds file. I'm pretty sure ti was the R4 Cheat editor.

Hi, This is my first post in these forums so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong. I'm having trouble getting Rom [3147] Personal Trainer: Cooking to work, it freezes to two white screens. Nothing else happens. I tried a trimmed rom first, (Its a 256MB, so i was relived to see it drop to 198), then one untouched. Can anyone get this to run? I'd try the ARM7.bin fix, but I'm down to the last 300MB on my hard drive, and dont have the space (or RAM) to properly do it. I am using the newest firmware.Thanks in advance!EDIT:Nevermind, I had a bad rom. the one in the free downloads here on DGEMU works, but it's a split archive, so you'll need something like 7zip to extract it.

I can't get Moonshell to work on my R4DS from the Media button in the main Menu, I can boot it fine by browsing my card from the Game button, and It still says there's an "error" but it boots.
