Having trouble getting Yugioh 2010 to work with AR codes. I am using the latest cheat database from gbatemp and the latest Wood R4 firmware. When I enable cheats and attempt to start the game, it freezes at the mode selection screen. When I go to select cheats, no menu appears. I have tried using r4cce to enable the cheats, and everything checks out there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Did somebody call for help? =POk first of all what version of the game are you using? It could be the case that you're using a patched version of the game, that might cause your cheats to malfunction. Make sure you've got a clean rom before you're going to use cheats. Your saves should be able to be compatible with unpatched versions or roms from another region, just rename the *.sav.nds file to the name of the rom and you should retain your progress (don't forget to back the save up just in case). The other case might be that your cheats are outdated or broken. I would recommend that you re-download them from here: http://cheats.gbatemp.net/Also your firmware files might be corrupt which might lead to the cheat menu not working. You can download the latest complete firmware here (the newest update only contains anti-piracy fixes): http://filetrip.net/file.php?id=13270 If this doesn't work you might want to check earlier versions of wood R4 and see if these work, do read the changelogs though, because some older versions do not work with YGO2010Also do note that cheats can make your game really buggy, so don't go overboard with them. I would recommend to use a maximum of five or so cheats at a time, or else the game might freeze like it did with yours.

The cheats work with every other rom I have, so I assume it's not the firmware or the cheat file, I will try to find a clean ROM... If only I had the DP for it.

Edit: Wait, I think you might have isolated your own problem!:

I did some digging, and using R4CCE I was able to figure out that the game ID for the rom I'm using (from this site) is different from the game ID in the cheat database. Can someone help me figure out how to fix this? Thanks!

Game IDs not matching, now that does sound like the problem! You said that you got your ROM from DGEmu? Strange. Which one is it? Is it this one or this one? And what was the Game ID of the ROM you have, the one that's "wrong"?I don't have an R4 myself, but I'll what I can do...

Thanks man. It realy works. You're welcome! In the future, though, please refrain from such posts, as this thread is only for posts related to problems, how to solve them, and new developments in the flashcart (and associated stuff). You can do it here though: http://www.dgemu.com...hp?showforum=85:(

Unfortunately that requires more than just a software thing. It requires a flashcart which is build specifically to work on DSis. So I'm afraid you're a bit out of luck in this, because it's pretty much impossible to get a regular R4 to work on DSi. :Chill:If you really want a flashcart which works on DSi, try either the Acekard2i or the Supercard DSTWO, depending on your budget. The Acekard is no-frills, and basically is only designed to play DS ROMs and only that, but it's extremely robust and reliable, and is pretty good at getting even the latest ROMs to work on it. And it costs below US$15. The DSTWO is even better, and can do much more as well (GBA emulation, Real-Time saves etc) but it costs much more.Acekard2i: http://www.dgemu.com...e-DSi-p-30.htmlhttp://www.dealextre....dx/Forum.18728Supercard DSTWO: http://www.dgemu.com...e-DSi-p-97.html

Hello,Until now, I've been coping with the official 1.18 kernel. But with the advent of the new games, I've felt the need to give it up and switch to a more recent kernel.Hence, I've downloaded the Wood 1.18 kernel (from filetrip) and installed it correctly (_rpg and dsmenu in root directory, after formatting the drive). However, no matter what game I launch, I get a loading screen for a few seconds then a white screen (on both windows). It applies to Mario Kart, Golden Sun, Professor Layton, etc...I've discarded my R4 box a long time ago so I don't really know whether my R4 is a clone or not. Here is a picture of my R4 (notice the "Upgrade" on it. I use a 2gb card though, bought along with my R4). There's no sticker or anything on my card.Posted ImageI remember the website advertised on the package box is the very same interface as this one, save for the url (which I think didn't end in .me) : http://r4ds.me/index-en.html . The files available for download are the same as the advertised website though...maybe my memory could be tricking me.Also, I'm using a black DS Lite and a Toshiba 2gb micro SD cardSo my questions are : is my R4 official or not? And why do I get a double white screen when booting any game? (I can play perfectly fine with the official firmware)Thank you in advance.PS : It's completely off-topic but it'll prevent me from posting twice : is dgemu's search engine down? Everytime I try to search the threads, I get a "Sorry, the administrator has taken the search engine offline for the moment. Please try again later"

Probably a clone, though if the site seems legit. Try YSMenu, instructions are also on the first page of this topic. On search: It's down on purpose. Reason is because when we enabled Search the large amounts of search were putting too much stress on the servers. So we decided to give the server resources to things like, say, downloads instead of searching. Instead, use Ctrl+F. Trust me, it's usually faster. As staff I am able to Search, but I usually use Ctrl+F to search a keyword in the appropriate forum(s) instead. :sly:

Thanks, I'll try out Ysmenu. However, Ysmenu's author's website is down and I remember him being very picky about people re-uploading his work, so would one of you be so kind as to PM me the .zip please (if it's allowed, obviously)?

Oh dear! Yes, I remember his pickiness, out of respect for his wishes I chose not to make a mirror. :bish:A mirror specially made because his site is down is here: http://filebeam.com/...ec92e7f2d5e2ff8Thanks to Gaboros of GBATemp, who also compiled the updated YSM3 (YSMenu for M3) in the M3 Real/M3i Zero thread.Remember to follow the instructions in the guide, for an updated YSMenu! :bish:

Hi there, I've been using this flashcart for a good number of years, but recently I tried Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors on it and it seems to be having problems, freezing periodically. I've not been having problems with any other games, though I haven't tried any new games on it for some time.I'm using the default R4DS software that they offer on the site/came with it. Not sure what it's called, moonshell?Anyway, I'm not certain if this is an anti-piracy issue or a problem with my DS running the game. It's not at the same point in the game that it crashes each time. Do you have any advice?

My advice is to read the first post of this thread, follow the instructions there. That's what this topic is for actually. But since you actually asked at the correct place, instead of posting your question all over the place like some of the other guys, I'll reiterate my instructions then:If you have the original R4 use Wood R4: http://gbatemp.net/t...ting-up-wood-r4Remember to use Wood R4 v1.1.8If you have a clone use YSMenu: http://www.dgemu.com...howtopic=460896Yours sounds like an original, so try Wood first. If it doesn't work try YSMenu.

Thanks for your quick response - I did read over the first page, but wanted to check if anyone knew if it was an issue with the game itself before changing stuff with my card. I'll give it a shot and see what happens!Edit: Okay, I installed Wood R4 (v1.18) and it seems to be running fine, but it hasn't fixed the problems with the games. The game is still crashing, though it seems to happen at the same point now - last times it crashed I was able to get further. Any further advice, or should I give YSMenu a shot to see if it can make the game work? The majority of games run fine for me, just this one and another on hang at a certain point.

Actually the ROM should work, as Wood R4 has fixed it.Try backing up all your files on your micro SD, reformatting it again with the official formatter, then put your data back.Since the kernel (Wood R4) works, it's probably either the ROM (which should be fine, if you downloaded from DGEmu and can unzip the file fine!) or the micro SD....Though you can try the patch, I guess: http://filetrip.net/...AP-Fix-1-0.htmlYou should only use it after the above has not worked.

Hi, it's been YEARS since I last went online in this great site... Anyways...I had a DS Lite but it broke, so, I bought a DSi and I tried to use my original R4 (with wood) but I can't play my games on it.It says "No game kard inserted" (or something like that)Is there any way to play my R4 Wood games on the DSi? If yes, please tell me coz I'm starting to feel real bad for splurging on a console that I can't (probably) use. Thanks in advance, y'all!*EDIT*

Ah, crap.>__<"Acekards and DSTWOs are not available here...Never mind. Thanks anyway...

I'm using a 2 Gig mem stick with it I will upload some pics to show you what I mean. (Also sorry if this isn't the right section for this It's homebrew info so I thought it might be.) Firstly, your post was in the right section HOWEVER, there is a specific topic for all and any R4 problems which you would've found if you checked the Pinned Topics. Never mind about that though. I'll just merge this with that one.Secondly, I can't seem to see your pictures. I remember someone else made this same mistake. Check this post out of mine so that you know what to do in order for us to see your pictures: http://www.dgemu.com...a...t&p=4901798

Hmm... it's R4 Upgrade Revolution for DS.Do you have the original packaging? Check on your box. Does it say anywhere there something like SDHC.I have a feeling your R4 is actually a fake in which case Wood R4 really isn't the best for it.You would be needing to using Ysmenu.Have a look at this. Someone's got the same as yours and it's a fake:http://img684.images...8/immagine8.pngAnd have a look at this. If you look closely because the picture is pretty bad, you can see that the cart looks at almost the same as yours:http://img72.imagesh...immagine7yw.png

I don't remember seeing the sdch on it. I could be wrong though I'm running Ys menu on this just fine. I've had the thing for 2 years and I'm trying to set it up for my nephew as a xmas gift sense i rarely use it. I noticed the new ysmenu says golden sun dark dawn works with it as well as sonic colors but all I'm getting is a white screen. Every other game works fine now so I'm thinking this is just ap. though not sure why I can see cheats for sonic colors but cant play it

You mentioned that the Ysmenu should be able to run it and so if it doesn't, this probably means there's a problem elsewhere.Right, considering you've had this for 2 years and have scarcely used it and now that you're going to give this to your nephew, I would advise you start off clean. Mainly what I mean is that you should reformat your SD card. I don't know if you've already done this or not but this actually solves many problems that people quite often face. Backup everything from your SD card and then reformat your card. You can download and and use this program to reformat your SD: http://panasonic.jp/...ormatter20.htmlIf that doesn't work, then post back here. As you mentioned, there is AP for Sonic Colors and there is a patch for the game. However, I advise you to reformat your SD card first, as that can possibly help avoid other problems in the future. If reformatting your SD card doesn't solve it, then we'll try the patch.Oh and finally, what version of Sonic Colours are you trying to play? Are you trying play the (E) version or the (U) version?
