Which game is better super smash bros, or super smash brawls. I personally like brawl more because of the good graphic and qualities. But i only dislike how they messed up some character like my personal favorite link. And how he jump so low and stuff.... But in bros he is a beast!

When it comes to games, graphics should not be the important part, but instead, as a minor bonus. It's the content and fun that counts. They each have their specialties to me. The N64 version (SSB) was very lacking in content with only twelve (if I recall correctly) characters, excluding the four unlockables. There are also very few stages to compete on, one for each series except for Mario's, which had two (Peach's Castle and an NES-themed SMB one). What people may consider cheap on there would be easy mistakes to learn with their drawbacks, like Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch. It's very powerful, but easy to dodge.Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been ridiculed over the major unbalancing of the different characters, and even more so with the Final Smash feature. It's tough to go against a powerhouse such as Ike as a weakling like Lucas, but with enough practice, one can learn to take advantage of a certain character using the weakest in a player's arsenal (which would be Jigglypuff to many new fighters). Some people may have been surprised at the inclusion of third-party characters Sonic and Solid Snake. The latter was originally intended to be in Super Smash Bros. Melee, but development was too far along to add another character. It's really all about perspective on what you want: Content or balance.

I would have to say that brawl is better. It has better controls, great graphics, awesome characters and stages, and the Subspace Emissary adventure mode was simply amazing.

In my opinion brawl is better. And what do you mean they messed up link? He is just as awesome in brawl and maybe even better. Its just how you use him. Also better graphics more places and the like are included in brawl.

@anarchy pride: Roy wasn't in Smash Bros. Ike maybe slow, but is definitely more effective with proper timing.I reckon Brawl wins in every way, except that the original had Board the Platforms, which is by far the most fun in the SSB series.

The difference between brawl and smash was that smash from the n64 version introduced smash moves, and brawl continued on with brawl on the wii. Many tournaments i have visited have disabled the ultimate ball (i forgot what it's called)As it has a rather difference power making other ultimates op then othersAditionally the biggest difference i see between smash and brawl is the difference in kirby, when kirby expels you in air you are no longer sent straight down instead you are kind of popped out right beside kirby, which is expected after the kirby cliff suiciders

Links Up B attack feels like it goes higher in Melee than any other Smash Bros game.

I like Brawl more instead of bros, but they took out Roy and kept Marth. :)

Honestly, it's not a surprise that Roy was taken out but not Marth since Marth was in the original Fire Emblem game, whereas Roy was simply in the latest one at the time (2001 or so). I prefer Brawl. I had a ton of fun with the original Smash, but it was severely unbalanced. To the poster who thought Link was "messed up" in Brawl, he was much worse in the original. However, the odd part about Link there was that his projectiles were absolutely deadly and his sword wasn't bad, but he was absolutely terrible. Why? His recovery was just laughable compared to everyone else's in the game. I remember times that I racked up like 93% damage on my opponent (a Ness), and then got killed after 2 throws (no other moves) and I had maybe 20%. Brawl was much more fair, and I do like it more. However, I have to say that I have not played it as much as the previous games, especially compared to Melee. That also had to do with the fact that I had my GameCube at home with me, and that was just the most popular game to play when anyone came over. Brawl = more balanced, and thus more fun. I thought Subspace Emissary wasn't that great though. The original Smash was charming in its own way though (in its simplicity).

personally my favorite was ssb melee. In 64 the game was just a little too basic whereas in brawl the graphics were hyped up so the game lost it's bulky colorful appeal, if that makes any sense.

original was the best since it started it all, brawl just changed a bit too much over time, and the playing style gotten slower compared to melee and the original

I don't consider graphics when I play a game. As long as I can recognize what's what, I'll try it out. On topic, I like Brawl the most of the trilogy, and Melee the least. My choice depends heavily on my dislike of competitive gaming. Each game has its own fanbase because of all the differences, but I'm glad Nintendo's always changing it up with their Super Smash games.

I'd have to go with melee, brawl has more characters and additions to it but melee is just simple and fun

id say brawl, even though it is a much more recent game, the replay compatibility and subspace emissary (although that did get annoying at times) have to be praised but more importantly the creativity of the ideas in the game get a 1 up

They're the same game though. It's not like comparing two different games, where there an obv difference. That said, of course one is better. The better version for me was brawl. Although the online game play is really quite laggy

Brawl is a better game in a lot of aspects and then a lot worst in others. They changed the characters way to much (like the Flood for Mario) but it is probably the best mechanics wise. The old games are still great though.

I like brawl the best simply because it is so robust and has so many different modes. I think the fighting mechanics were improved, but some things were done wrong: character balance, random falling, etc. But any Smash bros is fine if youre playing offline multiplayer!

I personally like both games a lot but if i have to pick a favourite it is definatley brawl because the final smashes are beast and there are more characters to choose from but in melee they got my boy roy. I like ike in brawl and i like how in brawl there is a random thing that you dont know who you are until the match starts which is a lot better than melee.

Also the graphics are a lot better in brawl

This is a game series that gets better with each version, the newer versions are each an improvement of the last
