I personaly think Supersmash bros melee is better than Super Smash Bros brawl. There s no really big difference between the two exept melee has a much faster gameplay than brawl. That's why I prefer melee over brawl.

I play project m. It's a free mod for brawl, and it makes it more like melee. It's awesome. v. 3.0 is coming out on Dec 9. Can't wait!!!!

Between the original and Brawl, I definitely prefer Brawl. I've never played Melee, though, so I can't compare that one.
SSB is nice and simple for multi-player, but Brawl definitely has more single-player value, which is important for someone like me who tends to go solo a lot.

I vote brawl, purely because you can create your own stages on it. This makes the game more interesting all by itself because you can create levels no one can escape unless they are smashed out, reaching all new damage levels and making matches much more technical.

I would have to say that the better game is obviously smash brawl, but for the time that both games came out smash bros. definitely lasted longer in terms of how long I played against my friends because there wasn't much out there like it

like Fedorian said, you should give Project M a shot. There have been some character balancing and tweaks along with some additions in the roster, better gravity (in my opinion) and plenty of other things.
