My favorite collection of starter pokemon had to be the collection in the Red/Blue/Yellow. I liked how they could evolve into some of the strongest pokemon around like Charizard or Blastoise. Plus I also tend to prefer the originals over some of the new pokemon.

I feel that the first generation of starters is the greatest. They are the pioneers who started it all. Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle are very powerful when evolved as well. Again, I also love them for nostalgic value.

i generally prefer the first generation because they're the original. and i think they're the best looking ones. but the johto starters aren't bad either in my opinion. however, i think that they all went downhill after that.

I think the first generation are the best because they are classic and become really strong Pokemon.

The originals are way better than all the rest. I liked it back when they were just one type. Feraligatr and Typhlosion were cool too tho.

I really liked the originals because they went from cool little guys to really powerful and tough looking monsters. Besides that, what other starter besides Charizard can learn the move fly?

I agree. The first generation was awesome and the second gen is my next favourite, but it seems like over time they are running out of good charaters to use. I'm not sure how long they are going to be able to keep it up..

My all time favorite starter group was probably the second. Bayleef was super OP as well as Feraligatr. Typhlosion was my favorite pokemon though because of his name, his call, and the way he looks. The new pokemon games are getting worse and worse but I'm still looking forward to Black and White and it's still a possibility that I might get it.

The second generation. Meganium/Typhlosion/Feraligatr. But I grew up with these Pokemon, so I'm biased.

First then second. nothing beats the original because they were the very first ones. next would have to be my favorite region, johto. second generation pokemon were astounding. every pokemon after that seemed to lost a certain touch or feel to it. it just wasn't the same. i'll admit some are pretty cool like 4th gen. but i will always have a place for the first two sets. blastoise and feraligatr love.

Johto starters! they're the only Batch of starters (besides Kanto) that all are good fighters in battle and use/learn fairly good moves compared to later starters.

The original three are the best because they all evolve to somewhat equal power levels, while with all the others, either one has a big advantage or one has a big disadvantage.

Much agreed, hadar. You can't beat the classic set of three, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle. So many memories. Of course, if you were playing Yellow you got Pikachu instead, but I'm not counting that.
