NO!!!!!
Pokemon belongs to Nintendo anyway, so if it was ported to Playstation it would get awkward. Plus Pokemon belongs on handheld anyway!

It would be cool if it happened, but doubt that since it's owned by nintendo.

The closest to a pokemon game I could see showing up on a PS3 would be a dragon quest monsters game. But I think even those are only ending up on Nintendo DS systems (and gameboy originally considering.) Maybe Monster Rancher? Or Digimon? But Pokemon as was stated before would never happen due to Nintendo's death grip on that series of games.

heres the thing though, pokemon console gaming as already been done and the people who own pokemon are rich enough they dont want/care to make/ or allow pokemon colsole gaming. no matter how muchg money it makes.

take the gamecubes pokemon collosium/gale of darkness... it made alot of money! and still they said after that, they wont allow pokemon games other than in gameboy (handheld systems).

pokmeon owners are fat, rich, lazy zillionaires and they dont care.

If all you Sony fans want Nintendo games so bad why not just buy Nintendo Consoles and play them on there where they belong.

Pokemon should stick to the handhelds, but it would be different if on ps3  but i know some people (and this includes my friends) would completely disprove of it. I myself would like to see it happen and take it from there, but there is a very slim chance that would happen.

I think Pokemon should stick with Nintendo - after so many years, everyone is just so used to playing it on a Nintendo device that they don't really need to let Sony in on the game as well.

While pokemon would be good on the 360 or PS3 would be interesting, it would mess with the classic formula that those whom have made the agreement with nintendo to have the series on handheld devices that we have come to know and love.

However there is a version that a few teenages have made for the computer. It seems to work the same way in which, if ninja gaiden's facing enemies system and a blue dragon graphic styles mixed, looks pretty good. They only have 6 pokemon so far in the game, being Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Ratata, and Pidgey. Unfortunately, it is illegal to own, but from what i have seen it seems like a very interesting idea that if taken up, could earn nintendo/Gamefreak a heck of a lot of money and many gamers lots of fun.

I dont really think that a pokemon type game would be suited to PS3

There are some turn-based RPGs for the PS3, but the bulk of those are SRPGs like Disgaea 3.  So, a turn-based RPG may not be an impossible cause on the system, but I have my doubts that it would be a Pokemon game.  I would suspect a Shin Megami Tensei game for the console, before I would ever hear about a Pokemon game for the system.

No I don't think it would be much better excluding graphics the controls would be a little to clunky for a fast paced game like pokemon. It should stick to handhelds.

What do you mean by fast-paced game?  When, I hear people talk about the Pokemon franchise I tend to think about games like Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow.  If anything, I'd argue that most people would expect something more complicated on the PS3 then a turn-based RPG.

No. That would hurt the franchise more than it would help. Pokemon is one of the reasons people (like my self) even buy Nintendo's systems. They would lose more money in the long run in that case. I don't think I would be okay with that. Thats just my opinion.

Would never happen unless Sony buys out Nintendo and keeps the Pokemon line going.even then its unlikely tht Sony will add Pokemon to the PS console.

I can pictuer a hard core Pokemon game with wicked Metal Gear solid style graphics and realistic looking pokemon that you have to battle in the wold Final Fantasy style. But I don't think it will ever happen :(

i think people missed the point. they guy is not asking why it is not on PS3 or something apart from Nintendo, but is saying would it not be cool.

I say it would be cool, you could even trade pokemon online with your friends or battle with them. lets hope Nintendo improve there online service.

I think if there were a fully 3D, "to scale" RPG world to capture Pokemon in, that would be extremely cool.  Battles would be epic too.

I don't think so. It's a Nintendo brand, meaning they wouldn't give it to the other consoles for use, it's a company exclusive game series. If you want to play Pokémon, get a Nintendo-console.
Ooooooor, you could come to my youtube-channel (VikzeLink) and watch my current Let's Play of Pokémon SIlver "wink, wink" (Obvious selfpromotion XD)

I would want to play a Pokemon MMOrpg that starts you in a region closest to where your console is set region wise. For example currently if you are in Japan you would be put in one of the first 3 areas (Kanto Johto, Hoenn) if in America, you would get Orre (from the gamecube games) if in europe you would end up in the area from X&Y. And after you defeat your pokemon league you can become the league champion and take on challengers from the real world for your spot at the top. And/Or you can get/buy a ticket to another region (ingame money) and try your luck there (maybe expansion packs required). The only Drawback I could see to this would be the language barrier and the server costs.

From there it would likely end up on Wii U though. any other console would be a waste of power and wouldn't be licensed anyway.
