Hi AllI recently got myself a DS Lite the reason I got it was so I can play the pokemon games that have come out for the ds range and also I have just had recently under went an operation and have a lengthy recovery time so thought to myself time to catch up on the pokemon games I have missed out on.I was wondering which game I should buy firstI'm tempted by the HeatGold and SoulSilver but do you think its worth playing diamond and pearl before?Also which one out of the two sets should I play firstWould appreciate any advice given Thank you

I would say buy Pokemon platinum and buy Heart Gold or Soul silver i would buy Soul Silver and then wait until black/white

That is the same thing i did i had gotten pearl platinum and gold from ebay. I sold pearl and kept platinum knowing its the same. id say its a good way to figure out the ds stuff. I was a gameboy color pokemon player and skipped the gba gen. It was definatly a shock. I guess it is better to wait for black and white, but if your are really desperate you could get heart gold or soul silver as these are better than diamond/pearl.

I don't know if you have already bought any pokemon game but, you should wait por Pokemon Black/White they will be out March 6. But if you really want to play a pokemon version I'd stick with HeartGold.

I personally liked platinum... is it just me or are they all the same... I feel like once you play one you have a pretty good understanding of how all the others will turn out

Personally,I played Pokemon Diamond first,since it's kinda like the older games...You know,walk around,battles,etc.If you want something different,I also got Pokemon Ranger because I was getting kinda tired of the usual Pokemon gameplay that's been getting really repetetive for me.

I would wait for Pokemon Black/White to come out, buy one of those then buy Pokemon Soul Silver. Afterwards I would buy Pokemon Platinum.

I'm not big on Nintendo's re-release of past Pokemon installments like Gold and Silver, even if it's been vastly upgraded. I had a lot of fun with the originals, but the new ones didn't spark the old memories I had with said games. I'd have to recommend the new Pokemon Black and White, as it looks to be the most entertaining yet. Diamond and Pearl were decent, too, but the new ones look to be a lot better :/

I'd say you're best of getting platinum first, black/whtie'll likely get a 3rd version aswell though I wonder fi that'll eb on the DS or the 3DS.

Get Platinum!!It's a mix of Diamond and Pearl.Heartgold and Soulsilver are just remakes.Pokemon Ranger and other kind than RPGs are wierd.Then get Black and White.

If you have already played the 'old generation' games, then skip Soul Silver and Heart Gold for a while, and go for Platinum. Ruby and Saphire are best when played together with a friend using the other game, so I would say go for Platinum if you're going to solo play in the hospital.If you haven't played the 'old' silver and gold, you should really buy Soul Silver or Heart Gold. They're way more enjoyable than Ruby/Saphire, especially if you don't know the story yet. I personally prefer Soul Silver, since I prefer the pokemon you can only catch in Soul Silver over the ones you can only catch in Heart Gold.I'm tempted by the HeatGold and SoulSilver but do you think its worth playing diamond and pearl before?
