I'm sure a lot of you might mention video games of some sort, but I don't mind, I don't even know the specific classes. But I really wish they'd give us the option to leave out History, and take Computer Programming instead :haha: How many computer programmers actually use that inane knowledge anyways? Now, the video game designers might use it for FPS war games, or mythological games, etc, but some people don't need classes they force us to take in High school. So what class do you wish they had in High School (existing or not, lol) :o

It would mostly vary based on the curricula in different places.Like, I know I went to a high school once where there were more unique classes that offered better courses for college preparation. (not necessarily advance placement though)Some schools are more inclusive in their courses, but like you said, there are those that force the standard subjects. Not that they shouldn't, but if anything, students should have a lot more flexibility in their studies and college planning. Some classes should be mandatory, because you'd be surprised at how useful they can be in some way or another. However, you get those classes sometimes that just seem to cover too much unnecessary detail or constantly reteach old material as if all students have ADHD.I'd like to see more classes out there that emphasize on things you'd typically have to wait until college to get any exposure to, like programming, as you said. Also more classes that offer opportunities for students to get more experience with creativity and aesthetics. Not everyone wants to have to choose between becoming a doctor, lawyer, or working part time at KFC.

I myself really enjoy history, but I wish they would give cinematography. I have a weird passion for video and editing, so I just figured... y'know... post what I'm passionate about lol

I wish they had home economics in my high school, while it existed for other schools, not for mine.

I really want a Latin class at my high-school. It seems like it can be really helpful for scientific names and laws and the like. I hear some schools offer Latin, and that makes me really quite jealous.

My snarky answer, having recently finished "Wise Man's Fear," is that there should be a class on "How not to be a jackass."My actual answers are 1) I wish there had been an actual class that focused on personal finances and how to manage your money. There were economics and business type classes offered, but it was hard to relate the grand picture of it to the smaller picture of what this actually means to you. Things like credit ratings, taxes, loans, retirement accounts, etc. would be of personal use in the future (though you'd have to convince the students that having this infomation is actually useful). 2) I wish that there were classes that focused on critical thinking and application of all that knowledge that's getting crammed in your head. While it's important to learn that information, it's of no future help if you never learn how to relate that information to the situations that you actually face.

I would do nothing with a Computer Programming class, but History was one of my favourite subjects. You learn quite alot of things in history if you keep your eyes and mind open.I'd think there should me more creative classes in schools. Schools try to kill creativity with their industry line work ethic.

I wish they had let me replace Biology with Economics or Computer Science. Both would have been much more useful and entertaining. Hell, even Astronomy would have been better. All the Astronomy I got in highschool was have a chapter in General Science :/

When I was in high school it would have been CENSORED or perhaps computer programming. But now that I look back, I wish we just had some sort of class that could teach you how to get a job and be successful. My college has that class, I just can't remember what it was called. Made you learn how to put on a suit, be professional, and all that. A useful skill for a high schooler looking for part time work or trying to impress different universities or colleges.

The class I wish they had in high school would be Japanese because half of my school's population is asian and a third of them is Japanese. I would also like a Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese class.

well, i wish my school was hogwarts...i've always felt that we needed a gaming class. where we create, download, and play video games.and definitely a class where they teach kids about music. i mean, real music. not this pop culture crap we have now.and also a movie class. where we learn about talkies, silent films, black and white, colored, and other such movies.

Some kind of starcraft theory class. Or maybe even a computer science class. Something that I have a genuine interest in and is pratical and very complicated.

If it was possible, magic classes! But since it doesn't REALLY exist, I guess I should stop hoping.Though I'd like stuff that I actually care about, such as breakdancing. The Co-curricular Activities in my school seem like a waste of time for me, and I have to go outside and pay for lessons for breakdancing, which I find is quite pointless. It would've been good if they provided that in school...

My school missed out on two things, namely Computer Science (hardcore stuff, not the introduction-to-word-processors/spreadsheets version) and Music. About the latter, of course we had Music classes, but all we ever did was fool around with drums and hollow sticks while not learning even a single bit of Music Theory in the process...

I wish they had more career oriented class instead of general knowledge class so students can find out what interests them.
