Simple, adjust your teaching style to your students. Don't settle for Bull crap, if someone is disrespectful mean what you say and take action on what you say the second time. First time: shame on themsecond time: shame on youWhat subject do you teach? It depends on that as well, however I dont mean to be rude but chances are you are not a teacher, at least not an english teacher.

I would like to add to what the person above said. Agree on all points made including not believing you to be a teacher or at least not an english teacher, if your teaching something like a sport however I would recommend encouraging performance. Be strict make them do pushups or have them take a lap to maintain efficiency not to hate them. Gosh there was something written in the renaissance period relating to this, dont be easy but dont be a dictator rule with a strictness only enough to keep order.

Okay, first of all, make sure they think your strict. If they're high schoolers my teacher said the loudest of the bunch would be Freshman since that's true and same goes for seniors because they're all excited to graduate out of school and if they're Sophomores, some are quiet and some are loud so make sure you've planned to do something about the students like saying that you have a pile of detention slips ready to be filled and they would shut up. It works every time, trust me.Young teacher i would like to know if you Were listening to your teacher ???My students don t listen to me !!!!!!Do you have advice for me ?

Personally, I think if the homework assigned is sufficient enough and the student is willing to learn, I don't think the teacher is all the necessary besides reinforcing this new information or introducing the new material for the next topic.

Listen to them and they'll listen to you. Be humble so that they can't say anything wrong about you. They'll respect you without forcing them to do so.

I think that the reason that some kids don't like listening to teachers is because they don't like getting told something twice. Do you often repeat yourself? I know that sometimes you need to repeat yourself to get through to your students but you could try repeating yourself less often. Repeating yourself can also be taken as nagging to kids.
