So i need to make my daughter a birthday cake, which icing do you prefer..fondant or butter, i prefer butter icing, its sweeter but fonadant icing is better for party bags...what do u think?

Always go with butter icing. Its sweetness is greater than fondant, and even if it's messier, it'll still be delicious for the guests.

I prefer fondant icing. You can do so much amazing things with the fondant, looks great for childrens parties.Butter Icing is then more appreciated with adults.The only solution is two cakes (that is what I always do!)

Great idea about 2 cakes- best of both worlds why didnt i think of that doh! it does mean twice the work though-im sure it will b worth it!
