2012 has no real real proof other than a cray man without astronomical degree that planet X is coming, and the movie has Hollywood magic all over it. Nobody has proof that 2012 is a concept truly understood by the people claimed to be the makers of the only calender known to man.

The stuff that happened in the movie 2012 is bull. The only thing that will happen is the polarity will be reversed (North Pole becoming South and vise versa) As this only happens once every ~600,000 years, when all the planets align) nobody knows how long after the planets align before this will happen. I hope I was able to answer any questions you have about 2012.

2012 won't happen. The year 2000 was supposed to end us technologically and, as you can see, everything's holding fine. This is just another 'ancient history said so' conspiracy.

Not to open up a can of worms or anything, but the bible says that no man will know when the world is going to end (when He comes back for us). Therefore the world is not going to end in 2012. I believe in what God says, not other people who are trying to bring you to their level of fearing every little thing (no offense to anyone).

I don't believe that the 2012 end of the world disasters will occur. There has been no real substantial proof that any of it is going to happen.

Yes, at the end of this year the calendar will not restart, going by the theory of counting it is the next logical number, go ahead try and add without it, every thing above it won't be right. Now my serious answer NO... the mayan calendar was set by the planet venus, this is just their reset, it will run all over again so everyone calm down if we survive this you don't have to freak out for another 5125.36 years

Depending on who you ask, you'll find different answers. If you were to ask me, I'd say that the idea of 2012 being the end of the world is nonsense. People believe that because the Mayan calendar ends in December, 2012 means that the world will end that day, but I would say that the mayans decided to just stop writing the calendar over and over year after year. That's just what I think, though. Everyone always has their opinions, so I guess we won't know until it happens.

There are obviously two reasons for why the Mayan calendars stopped at 2012.1. who the hell wants to keep making calendars 100 years ahead of time2. they knew people in the future would s*** their pants in an effort to try to make sense of such a random date to stop :milo2:

According to astronomers world-wide, there's no substantial evidence to indicate the world's end at any time in the near future. In fact, there are no records of the Mayans themselves ever indicating the destruction of the planet in 2012. If you're still alive five billion years from now when the sun expands to engulf us all in its firey wrath, then sure, you can complain, but I wouldn't get myself worked up over this. Something tells me we'll probably have a couple of drunk kids singing out their lives on the 21st of December though.

There have been countless theories that the world is going to end at a particular date, this is just another one of them. There is no proof that anything will happen. I guess the only way to find out is to let time do its job

What i've heard is that before the end of the Mayan calendar, there are events that will try and reduce the population of the world to give the new Mayan leaf(calendar) a fresh start... Hmmm, I think lets just keep our faith up and what happens happens...

Yes I think 2012 is as real as 2011.On a serious note though, of course not. There have always been disasters and terrible accidents and incidents, just as there has always been doomsayers.Just live life, enjoy it, and if it ends don't be too concerned about it.

theres too many superstitions in this world! i think the mayans may just want a bit of tourism by saying we're all gunna die.I wouldn't worry about it, but if catastrophy DID strike i would just deal with it and survive. Go zombie apocalypse!

There is no scientific justification as to why something like the end of the world would suddenly occur on "enter arbitrary number here". If someone could actually prove that something remarkable will occur on this day then I could change my mind.

I have no reason to believe the Mayan calendar's supposed "influence" on the world. You want to know why? The Y2K hype was a sham, and the worst thing that happened was an economic boost from all of the nutjobs stocking up on supplies for a worst-case scenario. If there is one good thing about the hype is that it might stimulate the economy; not by much. Whatever. There's little evidence to back up the hype.
