Playing games in different languages is always fun and exciting. Not knowing whats around the corner everything i a new adventure awaiting! Except at times they can be a bit frustrating when you get stuck and don't know what to do since the explanation si in a diferent language. But overall they are fun to play.

Lol Nooo!!! Not for me... playing a game in a different language is pretty annoying! Especially when you need to understand what they are saying in order to advance through the plot.

I agree with soulxcalibur. I find it kind of annoying not knowing what they're talking about

I once got the german version of pokemon blue for GBC, and I have to say it was not that fun... I could almost never figure out what actions my pokemon were doing. But I do remember that Pikachu's Thundershock was Donnershock, and that made me giggle every time I saw it

When I was a bit younger I used to switch the language in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Bowser became "Koopa" and Jigglypuff became "Purin". Fond memories indeed. :s

This sounds like it would be fun to do the 2nd or third time you beat a game...but the first time it would just get annoying >=(

There are actually a few games i played on Japanese way back SNES era. It was Tactics Ogre and Front Mission. I actually finished both games. It took me quite some time to finish them since i have to fiddle around to get used to the interface.

I've tried it once and hated it. You can't engage with the characters or storyline because you have no idea what they're talking about. That means you have to look up translation and that just gets really irritating. It'd rather not play an amazing game in another language than try to play it but just get annoyed 10 seconds in.

I played pokemon pearl in german just for fun. I had just finished pokemon diamond so i could still kinda guess the controls. The only problem i had was figuring out some of the attacks. I had to like pause it and go on google translator to find out which moves to keep.

I'm currently playing Phantasy Star Online 2, a Japanese MMO, using bumped.org to help me. But it's worth it, I can't wait until spring 2013 to play the English version of it, it's too long. Plus Sega will probably delay updates for the English version. XD

I don't think it's fun to play in a different language because I would get stuck in the game and I wouldn't know what to do. That's why I just play in English.

I've played many Japanese games.
I never understood a thing but I completed most of them.

That includes Groove Adventure Rave (PSX), Super Robot Wars (GBA) etc...

It takes a while but it can be done. And the feeling of satisfaction, or it could be just relief that you are done going through hell, is as high as you can imagine

It's interesting to play on a different language, only after you've played through once on your own tongue... Japanese text typically scrolls faster though.

MAH BRETHREN OF AFRICAN DESCENT

SRW fans representin'. Rise up and unite, my people! So like, um...do you have a JP 3DS so you can play UX? I don't. Not yet. Christmas. Can't wait. K's in my 3DS right now despite eight clears. I really need an AR for the DS so I can cheat. And L, too. The lack of bonus stats every 100 kills (which K had) sucks. You don't get 15 upgrades, either, so your damage is gimped. Your dodge rate, too. No matter how hard you try, S terrain or not, Proist is going to have 75% or more on you. And you can't cast Alert or Endure because SP is far too valuable to use on anything that's not Valor/Soul/Love/Accel. 2nd OGs is nice enough to have lower SP costs (WTF is up with K and L making Drive cost eighty fucking SP?) and giving you 2-3 SP/level from about level 40 onwards. I mean, shit, I can't even oneshot the 9700 HP Vajra in L's stage 38 and 39 at level 99. You need about 5000 minimum attack power for that, maybe less for Jeeg/Mazinger/characters with SEED.

I think the Deceive can pull that off with Nerve Crack Hand due to the size class difference. Why is that attack absent in UX? Even though manga Linebarrels, there's no reason it can't slam the wires together to make a hand. I mean, only like...seven of the fifteen Linebarrels units (well, potentially; the Juda's a secret) in UX have more than two attacks. Linebarrel, Verdant, Hind-Kind, Jinrai, Painkiller, Pretender, and Jack Smith. At least Banpresto was nice enough to make the Deceive only use one stat. That was BULLSHIT in L. If they were both melee-based, then it'd be worth it to give Shizuna Infight.

You know, I've played K so many times I think I may have run out of first-string characters to give skillparts to. I don't really see the point in giving B- or E-Save to someone who only has one attack of that type. There's still plenty of people who need Break Will Limit and Ignore Size. You only get 4 per playthrough, but one of them is really fucking hard to get. You need to deal 75000 damage in one go. I only managed that with the Solvrias Rex's Crystal Heart Sword with Soul, supported by Dann of Thursday's Godly Judgment. Well, that's a rough translation (the top screen calls it "G-ER Sword"). Like the Brownie's strongest attack is, I think, "Pixie Sting". I actually messed around in google translate trying to figure out wtf some attack names were. The Apparition's attack is actually called "Large-Caliber Sniper Rifle". themoreyouknow.jpg

well playing a game in a different language is a great way to learn that language (if you're patient, that is)
