Sadly, I haven't exercised since October of 2007, and that's because the nearest facility went out of business. Ever since then, I stopped exercising. I need a gym membership in a reasonable proximity, or else I'll never do it again.

Of course that's false, it's called stereo-typing.I'm an avid gamer and have been playing gymnastics for years and I've won multiple events. I know a lot of gamers that exercise much more than non-gamers.There's hardly any correlation.

That's a subjective statement. I love playing videogames and reading, it kinda takes me away from my worries. But more than that I LOVE to exercise, whenever I've got the time I go jog, do crunches, lift weight, etc, I also practice karate. Some people might be lazy but professional gamers are actually very fit, they have to be to be healthy and able to concentrate. You can prove this at any WOW competition or any other.

I'm military and I work out pretty much whenever I get the chance. Usually run 3-5 miles on average, I'm a lean guy not trying to bulk so I do lunges, pull ups, push ups, crunches, and I squat. I also play soccer for fun which adds to the conditioning. Simple as that.

NO, I don't exercise at all, but I have a pretty extreme job. I moved 75lb. parts 4 times a minute for 12 - 16 hours a day. When I get done for the day my thumbs are usually the only pain-free/non-exhausted body part.

I'm 16, a girl, and probably game as much as any hardcore dude around, but I only weigh about 110 and I keep it that way by exorsizing very regularly. So yeah. I think that its a particularly dumb stereotype. :o

This is an understandable stereo type since most gaming (especially pc games) requires no physical activity. Though I'd love to crush that stereo type when I surprise friends and co workers by playing the least 100 sec in DDR showing that gamers also partake in exercise.

I love exercising, it puts me in a better mood. Karate would be my favorite type of exercise, and walking =)

I think that people in general see gamers as lazy bastards, mostly because they can spend so many hours just sitting down and doing "nothing". From personal experience I've become a lot more durable or resistant to fatigue from hardcore playing (in my opinion!) and I've learned to apply this to my every day life, as much in school as exercise. For me there's no other option to get out all my spare energy then to go running or working out or doing some sort of physical activity.Of course there's gamers who don't like to exercise, could be that they are lazy or that they prioritize computer time over working out.Reason for edit: errors in me spelling, again.

i dont LIKE to exercise. But i walk my daughter to school every day and its a 2.5 mile round trip...which i do once in the morning and once in the afternoon. So i guess 5 miles walking every day is about the right amount of exercise anyway

I play tennis everyday and also play videogames everyday lol. I lift abotu 3-4 times a week and swim sometimes too. So i don't think the stereotype is completely true, since most gamers i know are sports fanatics.

Sadly, I haven't been exercising. I dislike exercising not because I'm weak. In reality I'm really quiet strong for a girl who doesn't exercise. I dislike it because I hate to sweat a lot. That's what happens when I exercise.

I usually use my lunch hours to workout which only means running 5-10km and doing about 10 minutes of core work. Having a young family at home I have very little time to do this at home plus I'd rather spend my evening hours gaming a bit. If I work out before I go to bed, I have no chance of falling asleep for a few hours so this is not a good idea. As you get into your 30 and 40's (yup thats my age range) you need to work on your body or you will be introuble by the time you are in your 50's. Good habits start early so you teens and twentys start now and build it into your daily routine so you have no back pains or other issues by the time you get to my age. I'm very serious about this, as an example today (April 20th 2011) I saw in a local parking lot an ambulance parked beside an about 50 year old woman who was slumped over on the ground and very lifeless, she was at least 30-40 lbs overweight from my judgement ... the ambulance crew did not even move until the police showed up about 5 minutes later (I assume the ambulance crew had already checked her out and assumed VSA). It sickened my stomach to see what I saw and I could only wonder what may have been the cause ... with over-weight and out of shape being the primary cause most likely. Build exercise into your daily routine one step at a time and find ways to enjoy it. Good luck everyone.
