Some games actually do make kids violent. Sometimes they see something amazing and they go "Woah...Did you just see that? They were all *smash* and then they were *smash* and finally they *smash*" They just act out what they see until it gets crazier and then they kill somebody.

I think so because I saw it on the news that a person killed another in the PC room, and it was all because of the violence game he was playing

Only some games influence violence in children, but that's with the children who can't tell reality from fiction. I have that problem with my younger brother now. Controlling him and teaching him that that stuff ain't real is gonna be one heck of a problem in the future.

Despite what you might think, all influences alter the way you think, even if it is just a small thing. But to blame video games for the reason you killed people is just downright stupid. Yet another way to take the blame off of us and to something else.

I don't think playing violent games are what makes kids violent. I think that a kid playing a violent game is only a reflection of their overall violent nature.

there are some kids out there that are suseptible to over stimulation of the mind and will lose the abillity to tell the difference between games and fiction when immersed in a gaming.

ugh, I hate all this talk. If video games led people to violence there would be quite a lot more violence. Any media for that matter. It's not the media that leads to the violence, if anything it's the violence that leads to the media.I mean, I played GTA and never stole a car, or shot someone. I played Resident Evil, but I've never thrown a molotov cocktail at someone. I played Super Mario Sunshine, but I never... well, I have squirt people with a hose before, but they lived.

I voted for the third option. Video games influence their actions only if they have a mental condition which causes them to lose the ability to differentiate between right and wrong, and reality and fantasy. Otherwise, no.

Not all video games are violent or promote violence, there are a few games out there such as, Grand Theft Auto, or any other game that promotes violence against government officials. Not that I got a problem with that, infact I currently own every GTA game on the market, but some people can't establish the difference between reality and fantasy. For instance, have you ever played your favorite racing game and then gotten behind the wheel of your car, you'll notice that for the first about 5 minutes you drive a little more recklessly than you normally would. It's not that you can't define the difference between the two, but your brain still percieves that you're playing a game.

I believe some games that focus entirely on violence can have a negative impact on children by exposing them to so much fictional violence that they may come to see real violence just as they see the violence in video games. I do not believe video games are the cause of problems within the children, but the childrens mental capacity to handle violence and discern reality from fiction. If someone is mentally instable it's hard to say that a game caused this effect because violence is seen everywhere in our society from TV, Video games, internet, and nearly ever other media device. There is my two cents and I hope it helps.

if those children choose not to read the ESRB and play violent games anyway, its their problem how they grow up.
