Only those that can't tell reality from fiction. Those with a weak state of mind (no offense to any of you)...

to be honest, if a child can not tell reality from fiction enough to know that shooting someone in the head is wrong, the parents have done a fairly poor job in raising them.

Videogames doesn't promote violence. In fact, if a kid goes on a rampage and kill 679 citizens, it is not because video games told him so. It's because he was mentally retarded. When you play a game you already know that killing someone or torturing is bad.(If you are not mentally retarded). After you play you'll still know that.Since Doom was released in 1993, violent crimes in the United States have to 40% of what they used to be. Coincidence? Possibly, yes. However, the year Quake and Duke Nukem 3D were released, violent crimes fell by 4%, and a further 2% when Grand Theft Auto was released.Moral: killing in video games is fun.

Yeah I think that violent video games do influence childrend but I don't think it'll make them go out and shoot a bunch of people. I does kinda desensitize us to violence, but not completely. I have been exposed to a lot of blood and gore over the years but I still feel sad when I watch the news and see victims of bombings or natural disasters.

ya but only stupid people are the ones that get infulenced

Depends on the game and the child/kid/teenager/adult. Most "video game violence" that you hear about on the news can usually be attributed to other factors (as well), but I admit that video games aren't 100% purely innocent either.

The producer of GTA. Well, his brother was killed by a kid who bought and played this game. The producer's brother is a cop o.O. I don't say it influences all but it can affect unstable minds.

I think video games influence a childs imagination, just as t.v. and movies! I think it's older children and children's parents that influence violence!

Indeed a child is easily influencing. That is why they shouldn't play violent games at early ages. That ESRB rating(Even whoever is sometimes...over rated) Is here for a reason. My tought is that you should be allowed to play any game at any rating at 13.

People always blame Video games, For anyone who does go out and kill people after playing Halo or something, thats when they have a mental disorder and would probably have done it anyways.

Did you guys read news that, on Asia, a guy killed a taxi driver because he wanted to recreate a scene on GTA4 and know if this was something as easy to do as in the game?!? Crazy, huh?

Constant exposure to it will probably lead to desensitization towards violence, but it's a big leap from that to actually committing violent acts. If people were that inherently suggestible, especially at a young age, wouldn't constantly reteaching our children about the Revolutionary War cause them to rebel and declare a separate country?

the government thought the kids behind columbine were pretty mentally screwed because of video games. i beg to differ. i've stabbed multiple monsters, killed a few people in shooters, and shot off a few heads. and i'm a very docile girl.
