I voted yes, all games. In my opinion, all games influence kids. It's like going into a different world. I dunno, not sure how to answer this haha...

I cant believe this is even a topic. Thats like saying its Beavis and Buttheads fault that some kid jumped into a garbage truck and got himself compacted. Remember that?if your kid is so stupid hes going to go start shooting people after playing doom because he thinks alien monsters are taking over the world...then he deserves to die.

I have a few things to say:1. I voted 'yes, some games and only children who can't tell reality from fiction'.2. Only some games in the world have lots and lots of violence.3. Not all kids will be affected. Only ones who don't understand violence is only good in games, not in real life. (They think life is all one big video game.)

Right... I believe that children will only be influence by games if they are mentally insecure or can't tell the difference between reality and virtual reality. I, personally enjoy playing games like GTA but when my dad heard the language on there he told me to sell it, so i did. He wasn't fussed about the violence because he knew that I am not the kind of person to run onto a street and randomly kill people. if the parent can control the child then that is o.k and they should not worry about them playing violent games. If, however, they can not be controlled then violent games are out of the question. If they were to get hold of a gun, because their parents can't tell them what to do they would think that neither can the police or anyone else so he/she would just start shooting people who annoyed them.

i think games can influence violence but it depends on how hard the game is e.g. games like GTA, Hitman etc.. can influence violence but games like zelda, ninja turtles etc.. are harmless but not only games also shows can influence violence.

in my way of thinking the most part of the games have some part of violence, kill the dragon, destroy the emperial vessel or anything... if you see alost all are of destroing or capture or kill something... but in this world.. now in the reality almost all the children are near of the violence... in the tv (100 killed people because a bomb), in the games (if you kill the dragon i give to ypu 100 coins) or even while are in the family or whit the friends (a parent figth or a friend figth) s the most part of the children know the violence in any way.. if you remove the games the thing will not change because are more ways to see violence....

My whole view on this is if they denounce GTA for being violent, then they should go after Final Fantasy and even Mario because no matter what the game is rated, it still involves killing stuff to get through the game, whether it be by shooting the guy in the head or jumping on top of it, it can still be considered killing. Also, they should also go after all M-rated games too because it makes no sense to go after Manhunt or GTA and let games like Silent Hill or Def Jam : Fight for NY (which has more cursing than even GTA) go. Also, WHERE THE **** ARE THE PARENTS!!!!! The reason the ESRB has a rating system is to let the parents know what kind of content is in the game and the age appropriateness of the game. Sorry for taking up so much space, but I just had to let it out. Thanks.

i think video games can harm children's thoughts of violence if they play those games a lot. Maybe they think It's allowed in the game (of course) but might also think it's no big deal in the real world ^_^

if the kids experience too much video game violence and not enough of the real world, they'll get used to acting the way they do in video games and try to be violent.most people would be fine, because they have experienced enough of both worlds to tell the difference

well theres no question as to whether or not it affects some poeple, it does. we've all seen it in the news. its usually younger childer around the age of 12 (maybe this is the age where they try impess other the most of something i dunno). it wont affect all children though, this is also fairly obvious as not everyone that owns a game console attacks other for no reason.

Yes, some games and only children who can't tell reality from fiction.I agree with that completely. I grew up on a PC. Some of my fondest memories include playing Carmen Sandiego and Sim City 2000. Yes, I played Doom, I've played Doom 2, I've played Final Doom (both missions), and I've played Duke Nukem and Castle Wolfenstein and most of those.Hell, I even downloaded the Harris&Klebold maps of Doom 2. They are pretty darn good. Led me to make one of my school and distribute it freely throughout the school. Mind you, my school is a private school in a three-level office building. So it was actually quite fun to try and get all the niggling details. And I learned a lot about making maps. But I would never have considered it, really. I mean, yeah, there's a certain satisfaction in blowing the crap out of a daemon who possessed the ***** english teacher or the jackwad psych teacher or even the goddamn headmaster...but relieving stress by shooting pixelated demons with pixelated chainguns or BFGs...that's one thing. Murder's a whole 'nother bag.I think it really depends on the kid, to be honest. If the kid's like me and generally nonviolent, then it probably will just make him laugh and go "Ha-ha! YOU WANT TO GIVE ME HOMEWORK?! DIE, SUCKA!" to a computer screen. Whereas people who are naturally violent/depressive will do it to the real person because they can't see past the problems in their lives. It doesn't really make you violent. It just might make you think about actually *doing* something about it.

I say that some of these games do influence some sort of violence on these kids but only on those that can't tell reality from game fiction my little cousin ( 5 yrs old) thinks that trying to kill me is helarious :( and i've tried to teach him that its not funny and that its not good for him to do that but nobody ever listens to me even if it is impotant!

yes.. but just in some games, we dont want childs holding knifes and telling: "look mom.. its my soul reaver"... we dont want childs saying: "im going to be a hitman... and my codename will be 47"... we dont want that... i like a lot violence games... but i like a lot softly ones too, i love simulators, city builders, bussines and harvest moon.

Well games provide entertainment for everyone, but its not meant to take the place of reality.I think for the people that actually get totally influenced (ex. like thinking killing is fun) then those people hvae issues
