man, some children r really disturbing. like on the news yrs ago a kid got a gun and shot his classmates or something like that. ppl blamed games but i blame parents and the kids' life. if ur so depressed that u wanna shoot ur classmates, u got issues. nothing to do with games.o well, at least i won't b influenced by these games cause im not that stupid and desperate

Heh I figured people would post alot on this one. But the fact of the matter is that this post choice hit the nail on the head. ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN'T VERIFY REALITY FROM FICTION!!! Exactly! And in my opinion those are the dumb asses of our youth because if you're gonna play a game like Mortal Kombat and think you can shoot freezing ballz of ice out of your hands then be my guest but it is a shame with the majority of the world thinks that this has a ediquate influence on us which in my opinion makes no sense what so ever...This is just my opinion but all of you or anybody who thinks video games play a role on people need to get slapped with a reality check or the parents need to do a better job watching what their kids play or w/e...Me...I dont have that problem...I do just basically do w/e the hell I want because I am smart enough to not do the stupid sh!t that people blame most youthz for...but i've said my peace.

Honestly, I think that is true. However, I don't believe that is true for all games or all children. It is a case-by-case situation.

Well as far as im concerned Japan has one of the lowest percentage of murders and sexual harrasment and stuff like those. Which supports my point that if parents apart the children from reality they will create satisfaction (in the fact of the sexual things) and will be more violent since the parents doesn't teach them to handle this violent reactions in their lives. Some parents are to blame because they leave everything to the rating system and don't try to explain to their sons how or what they are seeing and expiriencing. Take for instance the fact of naturist they live in enviroment in which everyone is naked which cause an indiferent pattern to nudism and well male doesn't get any erections unless they are in the sexual act

The game will only influence the children that play it, if they choose to accpet what they see. Most probably have the sense needed to tell right from wrong but some might influence them.

I dont think they influence children. If you notice with a lot of games these days, they have explicit warnings about this being fiction and things like "dont try this at home" routines. plus if taught morals, I dont see how it would swing that way. if they were to ban games based on this fact, it would only go underground and for the people of the United States, against the constitution, Freedom of speech etc

If video games don't cause violence, people who raise kids on GTA and gangsta rap do.

It only effects some kids because they dont know that the things they do in video games may not be aloud or maybe not even possible in real life and they may get hurt

Video games should have more blood and gore. Otherwise, they're showing children the actions without showing the consequenses.

I don't really think so. Even if it does get them hyped, how many kids do you see pulling out weapons on random people just for fun?

i think people are just looking for an excuse so parents or whoever dont get blamed for not raising them right. either that or there are retarded kids playing games.

I agree with Hephaistion some people just take games to seriously and take the violence out of the game.
