Usama Bin Laden is dead. Finally, after all this time...he's dead.

Crimson Rain
The Crimson liquid that flows from the wounds...
It's life-giving power wasted away in life...
What can it do besides provide power?
Nothing...that is the simple truth...
Blood flows freely from time to time, unchecked by others...
Those who inflict it, may they find peace...
For their tortured souls must have it before the leave.

Yes, but we still need to keep an eye out in the next couple of months-year. Let's face it, those psychopaths who did 9/11 aren't going to take this lightly at all. So I am going to wait and see. While it did take long enough, everybody should still be on the lookout for anything.

I don't think it means much in current, practical terms.Sure, you've killed a symbol, but he hasn't been running things these few years anyway. And the guys whom he inspired, the ones actually carrying out the attacks nowadays, are sure to get galvanised by the news, as mentioned already by wolfdemonrobbie above.

We've got terrorists outside al qaeda now. There are groups popping up everywhere. The war on terror will go on, Possibly forever, because there have always been people who hate something or the other and resort to violence.

It's at this time that everyone really need to be aware and alert for terrorist activity. Our countries, airport security and hotel bodyguard security started to add more personal (and hopefully sufficient training).

I said the same except a lot more crudely and someone reminded me that he is the mastermind behind the deaths of thousands and possibly of thousands more to come. There's no telling what he could do.But I'll agree, I'm not going to celebrate it but it is a relief that he's out of the picture.Still not the end of terrorism though.

It gives the U.S. some respect back. The fact that he could outwit the military sure looked bad.

What happens if you run around killing mass murderers, and hence become a mass murderer, and others, being inspired by your fine example, go on to kill you? What happens when, in the process of doing that, those people eventually become mass murderers, in a total shitstorm of doing the right thing?Probably would be "one of the best things that happened" too, eh?Right, back to the topic: It seems that Osama's been more than just a "symbol", as I asserted earlier, even in recent years: http://www.bbc.co.uk...canada-13325595. Of course that's by the US intel people, who'd probably love to be able to further justify killing him (as though that is needed), but this is still pretty intriguing. The most important part of this strike, in terms of the fight against terrorism, is probably the seizure of data from his house, the ones that provided that information above: http://www.politico....0511/54151.html*That* certainly has helped things.

I'm sure people are happy about this because he was a terrorist, but I honestly don't care if we killed him. You want to know why? There will always be people like Osama Bin Laden. History tends to repeat itself, almost willingly it seems.

History repeats itself almost willingly? Don't be silly, I am sure history does not actually have a will. There will always be people like him, of course, but there won't be many as prominent and influential as him. As you can see from my previous posts I am not exactly completely supportive of this, yet I do think you should consider all this before making your opinion.

'Tis a figure of speech.

It's like death: it is inevitable. Another person like him will arrive soon, as always. Once the party is over, people will find another person to refer to as scum of the earth. I stopped giving a **** after five years.

Other than for a direct successor in the al-qaeda, I don't see anyone with his kind of power popping up anywhere anytime soon.Sure, Terrorists will always exist but probably not a person with the kind of status and power he had.I'm hoping they clean out the whole al-qaeda because just osama won't bring it down.Once that's done... Well it doesn't affect me much but that's one less thing to worry about O_O

Personally, I'm delighted he was taken down.Thought I was hearing things when I first heard it!Although he hadn't really been active within his organisation in his final few years, he was still a crackpot criminal mastermind, and deserved to pay for what he did!....Sicko. O_O

'Tis a figure of speech.

You might want to try phrasing your figure of speeches better. It becomes a problem when it doesn't make sense.

It's like death: it is inevitable. Another person like him will arrive soon, as always. Once the party is over, people will find another person to refer to as scum of the earth. I stopped giving a **** after five years.

Technically everything is inevitable. People will inevitably suffer, why care if there are terrorist attacks. Everyone will inevitably die, who cares if Osama causes them to die earlier or something. And so on. Eventually you realise that hey, I gotta decide to care about something. And if you happen to choose to care about Osama's death, then yes it actually makes a difference. Losing their topmost leader, who was still coordinating things and being more than a figurehead, and obtaining all the data on al-Qaeda directly from him...Yes that makes a definite impact. Not that it's such a bad attitude. I honestly don't think it's a bad idea to not care about everything on the news. However if you want to post in a discussion thread it is always a better idea to actually *care* about what everyone is talking about. Otherwise there isn't really anything to discuss.
