starcraft... hands down.. RTS today are more on effects than strategy.. starcraft was probably the first RTS with the imbalance units, (i.e. meaning that each race didnt have corresponding units like footman is to grunt and archer is to troll)

C&C all series are the best....i remember espeically the first one...Red Alert. where the tunnel part is really really really trickey to accomplish.

STARCRAFT FTW!!!! It is the most balanced RTS game i ve played 
.... War 3 melee is not that great in comparison to that imo... because heroes > army.... or maybe i just love starcraft

I still love the old Tzar game. I couldn't get it to run on my old computer, but now I play it all the time on my laptop
