Well...AOE2 is nicer than AOE 3 although AOE 3 has superb graphics but the gameplay is lousier than AOE 2.

starcraft brood war is the best i reckon. It's simple to learn yet the complexity in it will keep you going for years

Starcraft BW and WC3 are the best strategy games IMO. Never played age of empires though...

I would say blizzard strategy and microsoft stratgey games are good like warcraft 3:The Frozen Throne this game is so famous when we talk about DOTA and microsoft games their special is age of empires because of gameplay.

Total War series comes close to being a great strategy series.Many RTS games are nice and alright, but it doesn't have so much to do with serious strategy or serious tactics :PThe most ultimate strategy (and tactical) game is - like some guy in the beginning of the thread also mentioned - chess Especially fun if you play against weak opponents, heh heh.

Starcraft...beacuse of the amazing blance and style of the game.After that..Dawn of War...beacuse of the sheer mayhaem. Greatned DOW has horrible balance issues.

I've played so many it's hard to pick.Although i quite like RTS strategy games.My favourites would include Battle for Middle Earth(I love Lord of the Rings), Command and Conquer: Generals, and Starcraft.

ARGH!! I hate Starcraft and Warcraft!!Back when those were coming out, I played Age of Empires. They had alot more strategy to it, more resources, way more units and buildings and not to mention the civilizations.My opinion, Age of Empires 2 was the best. It had good graphics, detailed gameplay, and lots of strategy. I think that Starcraft and Warcraft are overrated and are good for 4 year olds that dont need to think before they do...Drives me nuts how much more advance other strategy games can be, yet the stupidest ones get played more.

Command and Conquer :Generals Zero Hour is the best for me...especially if you play with mod it gets even better

I like tho play the games: Red alert 2 ,Yuri's revenge ,,Comand & Counqer generals and Zero hour ,,Evil Genius ,HighLand warriors,Age of empire 3,age of empire 2,Spell force 1 and 2 and more
