Probably not. I mean, you're spending X amount of hours a day sitting around idly playing these games, not getting physical activity in. Gaming or not, sitting around sedentary is never good for your health. (That said, this is the pot calling the kettle black since I do it all the time.) For a more physical alternative, I'd turn to one of the consoles like Wii of Playstation Move or Xbox Kinect.

Well in my case the DS is kinda unconfortable cause I have big hands and in some games certain comands are kinda bothersome to perform and after a while i have to stretch the fingers a little. So i would say that gaming for a while is okay but keep in mind to don't exeed it.

No way in hell but hey I'm not complaining about it. My eyesight has deteriorated since I started playing games but I don't mind :PI mean there's stuff like Wii fit that's apparently good for you but nothing's better then doing actual exercise.

I have played games since I was like 5 and I am 29 now. I still have perfect vision, am not overweight and otherwise not in bad health. I would have to say that maybe they aren't necessarily good, but can't be too bad either. All depends on how much you do it I guess.

if you play wii then yes, you can exercise there so it's good for your healthbut for handhelds i don't think so, first your eyes will be affected (especially if you play in a dark room like me), and second you will be addicted to it

I like games like brain trainer or things like that, don't know if it really does work to help the brain but its kinda fun. I like to play kinect when it comes to physical gaming..

It really depends on how much you play.Games can be really healthy mentally-wise if you play for only a couple of hours a day, but it can be really bad for you physically if you overplay.

i would say certain games can be really good like brain training but others you just need to watch how long you play them for like a 20 hour pokemon bash might put your body a little bit tired and you might feel funny in the morning however a 4-5 hour pokemon bash with breaks in between can be alright and most proberly will be a bit more healthy then the other one , i once played professor layton for 18 hours on end and my body felt like it was empty so never again i usally play a game bout 3 hours then start it up again when ive had something to eat and drink :)

Well the games where you actually have to stand up and move would be somewhat healthy for you, but other then that nope.

regardless, probably just a huge time suck haha. I mean, you're killing your eyes and getting fatter as you sort of sit around. Even the workout games are still...minimal energy burning compared to go to the gym...

This is a weird question. I don't necessarily think it would do harm to you body, because your mind is where you absorb most of the information. So in other words you would have to constantly play video games day and night, staying up 24/7 without sleep to get what's know as a gamer's high. Playing a video game straight for two-three whole days averaging only about 5 hours asleep each day might do the body harm though (I should know) Back when i played Shadow the Hedgehog for three straight days without much rest. My eyes looked terrible and i was a little more cranky and irritable from sleep deprivation. Luckily i've slowed down on the amount of time i spend on games, eh? Then again... Just kidding! Though now it's time wasted all night being online. :o

Definitely a big NO for my body. I just lie around the whole day around the hse playing my DS. Laziness at its maximum level. The only time I move about is to get a drink, shower or eat

I think it all comes down to having everything in moderation. Now don't get me wrong, I've had binges where I've played for literally a whole day, but those are very rare! I agree with everyone that posted about the Wii, but that is still not the same as going out and getting the REAL excercise... like real tennis or baseball, etc. I do think there are games like brain age/academy that give a certain degree of mental boost, but I also think that all games, in general, provide stimulation. Gaming is probably better than just watching T.V. because at least you are solving problems or thinking about your next move, stuff like that :)
