I chose Charmander first since I thought Fire was pretty awesome. Then I played with the other pokemon as well, so that worked out pretty well. I didn't really do much in the way of strategy though since it was a bit easy I guess.

I played Pearl first then emulator'd that game (nuu!) and chose Bulbasaur. This was because of choosing Turtwig in Pearl and using it for everything throughout the entire game. (Elite 4, Torterra was level 60 and everyone else around 30-35 
)Plus, IMO, Venusaur is pretty Kick Butt.

I always chose Squirtle... it's so cute! And Blastoise is a lot more fun to use than Charizard, since hydro cannon is insane >

I chose squirtle because it looked like the Pokemon on the box. (i didn't know pokemon could evolve then)

Charmander, mainly because the box art for Pokemon Red showed a Charizard. The increased difficulty was pretty nice, too.

I chose Squirtle the first time around. I think Blue was the first version I got and I pretty much just chose it as Blastoise was on the box/cart.

Well, besides Pikachu (on pkmn yellow). I usually always choose Charmander. It's my most favorite of the three~ I also thinks it makes the game a bit harder to play at times. So it's always nice to have a little challenge~

I think the first time I played Blue, I picked Squirtle because I liked Water types. Nowadays, I usually pick the Grass or Fire starter for variety purposes.

Squirtle was my first starter pokemon. Although it wasn't from one of the three original games, sadly. I never had the original GameBoy Color so it was from Pokemon Leafgreen. <.<

I chose charmander, cause i saw a family member playing with charizard, and got really jealous, and decided thats the one i wanted.
