So I'm pretty sure you've all been informed, but in case you missed it, Zelda's series producer Eiji Aonuma said in an interview that if fans call for a remake of Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, he'd consider it.I find this interesting on so many levels. On one hand, here you have Nintendo claiming that they would do the game if the fans call for it. Somewhat ironic given the Operation Rainfall fiasco, but nevertheless, it's cool. Then again... does the 3DS really need another remake? Should they forget about this and concentrate their efforts on a new game? IMO, if Nintendo should of remade one 3D Zelda game, it's this one. It came late in the N64's cycle, had to be played with the expansion pack add-on, which not everyone had, AND it was the best of the 3D Zeldas (my opinion... please don't burn me!)So yeah, I'm excited!

Nintendo will do what will sell the system and first party core Nintendo games sell systems. Well, they sell handhelds.Granted, Zelda doesn't have the power of Mario, but it's got some oomph behind it. I'm sure they will remake the game if enough people want it. The only question is: what is enough? As for my opinion on it, Nintendo is kind of stretching themselves thin at the moment. They have 2 systems that aren't easy to develop for releasing nearly within a year of each other and the 3DS has lots of games planned. I'm worried they will try to rely on 3rd party support for the WiiU launch (which didn't go over so well with the 3DS) while they try to finish up development on all their 3DS projects. On the topic of Operation Rainfall, translating a game and remaking a game are different processes, and whereas it probably takes less effort overall the get those RPGs over here, they are niche games at best. The Wii has sold perfectly fine without any core RPGs, so obviously there aren't a lot of people clamoring for them, and even if there were, I doubt they'd all buy a Wii, whereas Zelda fans will definitely have a 3DS.

I loved that game in it's original version, and I'd love to be able to play it again. Sure, it'd be nice to have new features, but that game was so much fun, I might just play it anyway, even without anything new.

Certainly it was one of the best N64 games. If it's going to be a simple port, I don't think I feel the need to play it again, since I played it a lot on N64. But if it's going to have nice 3D effects, new features and better graphics, why not play it again?

Actually, Im still angry it wasnt announced as soon as ocarina launched. I would buy it definitely, it would be great if the 3ds could play all zeldas before wind waker!! (Ultimate zelda playing machine). Also, the 3ds version should incorporate or xploit some of the 3ds captabilities (something to do with street pass and the bombers maybe?)

i'm sort of split on this idea to be honest. while i did enjoy the original game; even though it took me years to get around to finishing it, i still enjoyed it when i did; the trouble i see with remakes is a lack of innovation. a console or handheld should be able to stand on its own not from gimmicks or remakes or any of that stuff, but instead have at least a few, maybe even just a small handful, of games that are only available on that system, and original ideas. bear in mind, when i say original ideas, i mean it can fall into either something truly original, or perhaps a better looking continuation in a series. ratchet and clank did this with tools of destruction on the ps3, and thats the entire reason i first bought a ps3. so to sum it i'm, i think they need some different games first.

I've been a fan of the Legend of Zelda series my whole life and the N64 games were launching points for that. I think it'll be good for people who may have missed out on the N64 version to play them, not just talking about Legend of Zelda but Star Fox too. and anyother remake. That being said, they should get alittle creative and come up with some unique new game series'

I think it would be awesome to have a version of Majora's Mask. I never could play the original because I never had that console....

I first played Majora's Mask on a 4 zelda game disk on the Game Cube. Is that the original or is that a remake?

The one in that collection was just a port. The original Majora's Mask came out on the Nintendo 64. As for any kind of remake on the game I would buy it day one. I loved that game more than Ocarina Of Time.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I actually didn't like that game. It seriously creeped me out, which I thought I was just being my usual wuss self over, until all my siblings played it and subsequently were all freaked out by it too. Not a fan of that game in this house.

Would I like to see a remake? I'm pretty neutral. I personally wouldn't buy it, obviously, since I didn't like it to begin with. But I know there were plenty of players out there who loved that game, whom would quite possibly buy the remake as well. It wouldn't necessarily be a *bad* move for Nintendo, but, I don't particularly see this being a big deal in the long run if they do it. We've seen this over and over with the Mario games....they get remade, there's tons of hype leading up to it, and then there's the great fandom divide: there's the people who like it, and then there's the hardcore fans who will b**** about how the remake wrecked the original game by changing it, etc etc. Still using Mario as an example, there's only a few titles I can think of that can really stand up to time with being worth playing over and over again. Sure, the others might be fun to whip out for old time's sake when you're feeling nostalgic, or even for a younger player who wasn't around the first time around, but there's a few titles that stand apart from the crowd: things like Mario 3, Paper Mario, things like that. The same can be said with Zelda games. There's a few that might be worth remaking, but the others....it will be a very niche market. I think this particular title falls into the latter.

I would be interested, but i dont want to have to buy a 3DS just for remakes.
Why not release them for the wii or the Wii YUU?

As of yet, the Wii U hasn't exactly received the best reception by the press or by fans, despite its not even being released yet. To try and bank on the success of a game as old as Majora's Mask, which is somewhat of a niche market to begin with, could be one of those make it or break it moves for the Wii U's success. And with the release of that new system in the not so distant future now, upscaling the game for a system like the Wii wouldn't make much sense to do for something that may or may not become obsolete once the Wii U is here. It's a catch-22. So, it makes plenty of sense why they'd want to release this for the 3DS.

I have the original so I probably wouldn't buy a remake even if it is portable and has extras. That said, it really is a great game!
