Buying a Japanese 3DS solves this.

Should I feel bad if I want everything to become ice cream?

PS2 was region locked and it can play games of any region now (with a modchip). Just have to have faith in the people trying to hack 3DS mode. Region locks have been cracked before.

That doesn't really make sense, unless you think of the law as some sort of all-encompassing guiding force. Even if it is, it's not perfect, and so it sometimes requires benign influences from the outside to guide it until it has improved or stayed with the times.

Yet you see no issue with needing to buy a seperate 3DS to play games you buy but can't play because they say so?

Oh, I didn't say that. It was only a legal alternative to his problem.

I partially agree on that count. Still, i can't help but wonder about the legality of doing region locks really. i'm sure their lawyers figured it out but i'd really love to hear the logic behind doing that. I get there are arguements for locks and all that but a fair few (like second hand market) seem to go back to their profits.
