Bad news on that front, they've discontinued the production of the dslite since a month or so. Which means that shops now only carry their own stocks and that the original dslite gets harder to find.I hope the DS Lite will stay in production for a while. I'm really not a fan of the DSi or the x-large version or even the 3ds. At this stage the 3D still hurts my eyes but I do like the glasses free approach especially since I wear glasses.

Probably not handheld. The future will probably be light and portable versions of consoles so you can easily set them up anywhere and play. Data plans will probably be incorporated somewhere as well.
It wont disappear the ds propably games will released with the 3ds games. Nintendo DS has already 3 versions and one amazing Nintendo 3DS seriesNintendo company is planning to put on the markets this gaming tablet. http://media.photobu...pt-2011-445.png If you need more information please tell meI don't really know if the DS and the Dsi will disappear and I hope not. I've had the DS for about a half a decade now and I still think it's still exciting. But because of the 3DS, who needs a DS. Well, the 3DS does have twice the awesomeness, but will every thing in the future be portable? In 2012 Nintendo is making the WiiU which seems spectacular, but the main point here is will the future be all about portable gaming. My guess is yes, but who knows.

I agree there are thousands if not millions of people who still play outdated and older systems...I am one of themProbably not handheld.
