Could you please be a bit more specific like the error that windows gives you when you can't add a game? The problem in this case doesn't seem to be your flashcart at all, because you're trying to add a game to your micro sd.

If menu comes up on the dsi then you have not put the right software on the sdcard, it wont matter putting the files into a games folder, you have to put the correct software for the card onto it, check you have the right software by going to infoxdomain and find the right software for your card, you can get files from the internet that you can put onto your card without unzipping them, but most are zipped, in that case you have to have winrare, you can download that from sites like btjunkie, of the pirate bay, once you have the right software for the card and unzipped the game then put them on the sdcard, it should be ok, you can put the games into a games folder on the card, but it will work without that.

after getting the right software and navigating to the right folder to place the game files, you have to use winrar (or other similar program) to open the downloaded files, then drag and drop the .nds files into the card's folder, safely remove hardware, take the SD card out of the card reader, transfer micro-SD to the R4 card, insert into DS, and play.also, sorry if this doesn't work, I use my R4 card on a DSlite, while its suposed to work with a 3DS, i have not tried it yet (im not exactly rich and I cant afford a new DS :c)
