With so many games available for easy access, how do you manage which ones you play? With my new R4 for Christmas, I downloaded ten or twelve games, and I can't decide which one to play first, so I'm barely past the prolouge in all of them. That is, until I found Dragon Quest 9. So how do you decide what to play first?

I just got this game from my brother (used to be his). I'll probably be stuck just like you are!

You definitely need to land on a game that captures your full attention. I own plenty of games, but haven't found any that were good enough to keep my attention for a long while.

When I first found this website I was flooded with around 20 games. I was stuck in deciding, and I too made Dragon Quest 9 the main one I was playing. I think the one with the best plot. but then there are also the short fun games like Elite Beat Agents or Rhythm Heaven that I played to rest from grinding. Mmm, I was also preoccupied with puzzle games like Professor Layton, but with the any-time save ability I played it every time I pooped.Unfortunately, with this plan I d/led more games and ended up not playing TWEWY, which I heard was very good, and Disagea (which I wanted to play, because I was told it's better than FF Tactics.)

Proof that evolution is still only a theory

Banned for repeatedly threatening to report the site to "the authorities"

Well lets see. It usually goes with new games first. Then i'll play the others after beating the new ones. But when i'm bored sometimes i'll go back and play my old games, depending on which i haven't beat yet on hard mode...that's what old game i'll go back to.

As with others I usually download a batch of games, play maybe 30-60 minutes of them to see if I want to keep going. If not, delete.

I basically pick whatever jumps out at me at that particular moment to play. Given my moods are all over the place, I've found that my mood has a direct influence on the games I pick.

Me, I'm totally the opposite! I stick with one game until it's beaten. And then I play through it again :foldarms:

I play random games with titles that sound fun or are made by certain companies (Squaresoft / Enix / Square Enix XD / Natsume / etc.) until I find one that hooks me. Right now, I'm playing 4 different Shin Megami Tensei games. (5 if I can get Devil Survivor 2 to work.)

I am the conqueror of darkness.
I have saved the land of Hyrule countless times. The people of the Mushroom Kingdom worship at my feet. Gigyas, himself, is even afraid of my wrath.I use children and fat shroomers to do my bidding: Ridding the universe of all evil, no matter the odds. Labrynna, Johto, Kanto, Netopia, Electropia, and many other lands are in my debt, for I have used my courage, wisdom, and power to save them all from the clutches of darkness. But no, that is not all I have done. I have also saved other galaxies. I defeated Malak in all his rage and at the peak of his power, I turned Bastila back from the dark side after she had fallen. And I destroyed the Star Forge, that great omen of pure darkness. I am the Bane of Evil, and the Protector of Good.

This.

I still will come back to this notion as well. Since i'll be getting a new game within the next month, i might have the same problem. Though, what can you expect. It's neglect, but that's generally what happens when you get a new game ;)

I usually go with recommendations from friends. Then there's always reviews and YouTube!!!
With DS specifically, I first saw a few "Top NDS list" and found a few (like TWEWY :fun: ) and then through more searching found others (like 999 which I haven't played yet).

my mood has a direct influence on the games I pick.

I have that too, but I end up having tons of ongoing games at the same time (lot's of mood changes  ) so I try to finish first what I 've started!!!

From Natsume, the 'Rune Factory' games are highly under-rated. That is one instance where "Top NDS" lists fail.

I've been gaming since the early 80's so I have lots of favorite franchises and companies. I'd recommend just play random games til you figure out what you like then try other games from those companies.
