I tried the search function to see if anyone has started this topic and I didn't find any others so if I am mistaken, I am sorry. Is anyone else convinced that the world might be ending this year? I know in the United States, things aren't looking up. I'm a junior in college studying Nursing with not a lot of job prospects, the presidential candidates are rediculous and things don't look like they're going to get better. Is anyone else feeling like they are doomed?

Nah it won't end. The doomsday scenario that people are worried about for 12/21/12 is the date that the Mayan calendar ended. All that means is that it was supposed to be the end of an era, and another one follows. No doomsday, just a switch from BC to AD, comparatively speaking. The US is in deep doo-doo and needs some large changes, both on a policy level and a cultural level, but we'll bounce back. Or China will buy us out. One of the two.

Oh, man. Here I thought it was a topic about the Mayan calender ending. I agree with you. The people on this planet are degenerating at a dangerous level. Extreme conservative right wing nuts have a chance of becoming president, People look up to celebrities such as the people from Jersey Shore, Kardashians, Bieber, and the Twilighters. The US depts is way too high, and by the looks of it, as long as the US is so focused on maintaining the whole "we big, we strong, we american world police and rich" attitude, it's not going to change. Last week I saw the daily show for the first time. Besides it being funny, I learned alot about american politics. How both republicans and democrats are working as hard as possible to make sure neither side gets anything done.Only then I realised, 2012 might actually be the year the world ends.

All that means is that it was supposed to be the end of an era

When you put it that way then the world could be ending. Our "world" anyway. I wonder who'll take charge after us lizard ppl or plants. Its funny how the end of the world idea is being seen possible because the world's biggest a-hole/bully/hypocritic sweetheart is losing its hold on everything isnt it? Honestly I don't know and worrying aboot it won't do us any good =D

I like not knowing if the world is going to end. But if it doesn't there is going to be a lot of 2013 babies. XD
