We all know Dreamcast was ahead of its time and was a great system, but why did it fail?
Why do you think dreamcast was not as big of a success as it should have been?

it was just too advanced for the time it came out. you could play some games on the memory cad itself. like sonic adventure. you could play with the chao while it was in the memory card. the systems now doesnt even have memory cards. internal memory cards for all of them. i wouldve loved the memory card that the dreamcast had. that and some of the games were bad. i wouldve love it if sega made another console just to compete with the ps3, 360 and wii. just to see what theyll come up with.

I think it was because Dreamcast didn't have enough content and everyone wanted the Playstation 2 because of the DVD player.

The Dreamcast had a lot of games, and for any fans of arcade style games, they had quite a lot in their library. The popularity of the other consoles pretty much put it behind everyone else, which was a shame. I still enjoy my Dreamcast even at this day.

I remember this game called power stone 2 or something like that. It was super fun and you actually move when fighting. There was no game like that back in the days and i dont play console much or at all now.Edit: move when fighting as in the scene move and you had to move with it.

The features it offered were pretty impressive for the time, but I can't think of many games off that system that I really wanted to play besides the Sonic Adventure games and some others. Also, the online gaming idea bundled with the modem was ahead of it's time and not executed very well.Other stuff might have been a factor too. Perhaps the games were hard to program for the system and were too expensive. I don't really remember all that well.

I thought the dreamcast was a pretty good console, but if memory serves... It failed because soon after the Xboox - PS2 war started. When those two came out, dreamcast was disolved. dreamcast although was good, failed to stand up to the microsoft and sony... It's a shame...
